Thank you. That last paragraph is what I’m talking about haha ! I have also been thinking of swapping the propane for a diesel heater and tying into my Cummins fuel tank, which would seem to be a big upgrade over the propane unit. How would you integrate the second heater ? On my 1500 , I’m not...
The more challenging aspect in all of this would be unplugging and getting away for a weekend to go camping/snowmobiling/skiing and since it gets so cold up here - sometimes -10 to -20 at night it might freeze everything.
Obviously much easier to run without water, but man a hot shower while...
@NOPEC thanks for that reply....lots of good info in there. Will I need to run a de-humidifier even in the dry climate of Wyoming?
Based on your reply it does seem a good idea to run those 2 little 250W heaters in both tank compartments as well as under-sink area.
also if the valves are left...
Hi Y'all, looking to get some Beta from those who have wintered in their hard-sided camper while plugged in. My camper is a 2006 Bigfoot 1500 9.3SB, and I am in NW Wyoming where winter nights are routinely in the single digits and sometimes below 0.
I will be utilizing a dry-den mat from...
I do but these propane units are not very efficient. I was curious about installing a diesel heater in place of the propane one and tie into the 60 gallon diesel tank of my Cummins. The diesel heaters are super efficient and that 60 gallon tank would go a longgggg way. Anyone done this ?
Hi everyone ! I just purchased a 2006 Bigfoot 15C9.3 and am excited to get out in it !
I have a question regarding cold weather camping. I will be using this camper in the winter to ski and snowmobile and was wondering what the process would be to keep the use of water. I am guessing using a...
Hi everyone , I am getting some bed bars fabricated for my first gen Tacoma I was thinking of going with a 15” height for my bars , and having them round , but wanted to get people’s opinions on the height and shape. Thanks.
I don't, although I was hoping for that here. I also think it wouldn't be too much more to replace the Chinese turbo with a Garret and keep everything else, although I would also acknowledge I think it would be a mistake to assume the Chinese turbo is of poor quality, unless of course you have...
This looks amazing... 5PSI of boost on stock ECU etc. $1600 Dollars retail. Its a Chinese turbo, but still this is mighty tempting... its a ways off for me but would love to hear if anyone is running this on their rig with the 2TR motor (either Hilux or Tacoma).
More info here...
This thread is amazing, beautiful photos and words. Your rig is awesome. Love all the mods, and look exactly in line with what I would like to do with mine eventually.
Well went to set up my cot tonight in the back of the new truck, and the cot is too large for the tailgate to close, so if I want to use this cot I will need to leave the tailgate down and the topper/shell window open as well.
I was wondering if anyone has rigged a system that keeps the weather...
Not getting pushed off the bead, just lateral slip, kind of like if you when you try and turn a road bike on a snow covered road. I was not aired down. Best example I can remember is going through a corner on a snowy road, where I would get lateral slip with the skinnier tires, where I didnt...
Something to keep in mind with Skinny tires, which I havent seen mentioned, is off-camber situations where they can slip and slide laterally. I ran 33x9.5s on my first gen tacoma and felt this first hand.
