    Let's talk about step vans...

Oh ya....... that is a sweet rig. That would make one helluva truck for anyone who does the real math. I really, really liked the grey photoshop rendition you did. THAT is a real rig. People probably do not realize all the space that rascal has for the equipment necessary. One day, your gonna...

    Let's talk about step vans...

Old thread, I know, but here is the last step van build I did (had a couple). So much room everywhere. Had house batteries and Honda genset under the hood, fresh and waste tanks under the skirts. I sure miss it a lot !

Blank Canvas to Start With !

Kind of stoked to have picked this up cheap. Decently heavy steel walls, nice frame. I have all winter to plan out what the best move is regards modifications. She's a 4'x7' Montgomery wards unit from the mid to late 1960's. The potential is kind of endless... hardwall, softwall, flip-pac style...

Post favorite pics of your rig and trailer

After spending the summer building the truck camper, I only got out once this fall. Plan to do a winter weekend with just the truck.

Lets see some full size pictures...

I have a Domestic Full size! Sadly, it's only a 2WD, so my "expeditions" will be limited to the highway and trustworthy fire lanes. I spent the summer taking two regular high top fiberglass caps and turning into something bigger. Now winter is coming, so the fun has to wait until spring.

Talk me out of an air pressurized water system...

    >>> Have you had good luck with electric demand pumps and no accumulator? And is there a pump you recommend? I've just been using $30 Seaflow pumps from Amazon. They are only 1.2GPM, but any bigger, and my family would smoke through a 10 gallon tank in a few minutes. I dont have an...

Talk me out of an air pressurized water system...

I think because of the space, its more work than a simple electric pump setup, though, You should have some interesting space under that K5 hood! I've done pressurized and a wort plate exchanger on an insulated aluminum tank. But I had space to do it. Still, compared to my newer setup, it was...

Camper Covers for Winter - What are you using?

Covers are a two edge sword. If you get a non-breathable vinyl coated one, you trap any moisture in and things look rugged underneath when you take it off because it will have condensation form. On the flip side, a breathable one, at least the ones I've used have just let water run thru like...

    seal sewing machine needle holes

I believe I did...... I'd have to go look for the can, but those numbers do ring a bell. On my first awning, I had sewn a keder strip onto el-cheapo silver tarp, backed with 1" nylon web. Rain always dribbled right above the doorway. Sealed it up very well, but from what I remember, it left a...

    Trailer theft security

    >>>Even my 93 LC the AT interlock would lock up when a cheap trailer blew its light fuse... Well, that's even better yet ! If they are going to steal it, I figure it is best if they do not get very far. If they have to abandon their mission, it is likely they didn't wreck much yet. The "short...

    Trailer theft security

My 2 cents... I figured all the locks and chains I might add wont stop anyone dedicated to taking my 6x12. I also figure if it is going to happen, it would probably be at night. Oh, I lock things as best I can, but hey, they have battery operated 4" grinders these days. So, I added one...

Hello All. My first post. Here is my simple custom GMC Cube Van conversion.

Love what the OP has done here....I have something similar, and I too was at one time dreaming in the world of "stealth". Having a white "commercial vehicle" standing just about anywhere can go quite un-noticed, but there are plenty of challenges in this post DHS world and everyone on edge...
