Unless your mechanics gladiator is a dedicated off roader I wouldn’t recommend replacing the front locker with it. It’s too easy to lose control on road in slippery conditions.

That is a great story. The guy was actually a prisoner on a sort of work release/ job skills program and IIRC he was cooking or serving food at that event or one close by. He got an early release because of his heroics!! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Great trip so far! What kind of range and gas mileage are you getting out of the Toyota? Also thoughts on the bougie cooler? I have one I use in my wrangler. I got the extra plug in battery for it. I think it was one of the best purchases I made! Any issues for a full size truck on the route?

My 2p. If this is going to be for overlanding as you said go with the bigger bed. You said you will keep the k5 for tighter stuff. And yes it will feel like a barge! I have that feeling on my f150 after using my jeep! I have the 65” bed on mi e and wish I had gotten the foot longer one. Yes...

You have to remember the demographics on here. The best vehicle ever built was a 60s Land Cruiser with bias ply tires, leaf spring suspension, 3 speed transmission and 35 hp. Better than anything built today!
