Well almost... I have a buddy at work that I bounce ideas off of. He sent me a text asking if the 'stranded' in the desert was a stunt to convince my wife I need that new Silverado ZR2 Bison. And he let me know his text should not be misconstrued as advice or approval - our wife's talk so we...

Continued from above, Wednesday, day 14. In the morning, we packed up and crept slowly out over the exposed rocks to the viewing parking and the entry gate of Goosenecks State Park. While pumping up the tires out I noticed the A/C was dripping more water than I thought it should, over the past...

Commentary: I've posed the question before, can you really be an overlander without a drone? Camped out at the end of the gooseneck I could not get a picture that showed just how far out we were. Driving out, camped and just sitting by our fire can I was all too aware that we were out on the...

Continuing from above, Monday, day 12. We slept in a little after the hiking the day before, then we where off to Valley of the gods in Southern Utah, about 400+ miles from Needles Ca. With a stop at Walmart in Flagstaff for a few supplies it was getting onto evening when we found a camping...

Continued from above. On Sunday, day 11, our daughter loaded up Nana and headed off for the airport to return to Ohio. We packed up the time share and hit the road to continue our adventure. My original plan was to head for the Trona Pinnacles, Saline Valley (it’s the valley west of Death...

Continued from above. On Wednesday we headed North East on I-15 towards Vegas. I-15 defines the Northern boundary of the Mojave Preserve. From the town (or wide spot in the road) of Baker we headed south into the Mojave Preserve toward Kelso on Kelbaker road. Not a very original name for a road...

Continued from above. After out “remote Camping” escapade we decided to take it easy on the truck. We kept to dirt roads and other places that a tilt back tow truck could make it to just in case. We had popped out of the desert on to Lanfair Road not far from the Mojave Desert Heritage &...

I should add an addendum to the stranded in the desert saga. Where we were we had 5G service on the phones. My wife did her Japanese language lessons on Duolingo, talked to her sisters and answered some question from her work. For whatever reason she didn’t worry (that I could tell) and carried...

Continued from above. We left Tucson early Monday morning and drove ~400 miles to the start of the Mojave Road. Growing up in the south bay area of Los Angeles Dad took us camping a lot in the Mojave Desert. It was a reasonable distance from home for a weekend getaway. When I left California 30...

So, my nephew decided to get married out in California where I am originally from. My brother and his half of the clan still live out west but my parents moved to Ohio 20 years ago, Dad is passed now so it fell on me to get Mom out for the wedding. For the price of air fair I got my adult...

As a temporary measure I mounted my Hi-Lift jack to the top of the bull bar. I have seen several full-size rigs doing this, like the Overland Trail Guide guy. It’s not my favorite solution but was easy and it works while waiting for my tire carrier to show up. I stopped at Tractor Supply Co...

My plan for water storage is to locate it here next to the heater vent. In the past I used 5 gallon water jugs from Reliance – 3 of the blue cube shaped ones and one old one that was round. They served me well, I think the oldest one is pushing 40 years old from our first camping trips when I...

The elephant in the room (no literary, this thing is huge). I think for me there are two game changers for this build. One is the Moonlander shell that has east west bed that allows space at the back of the shell inside. I can set a chair up and sit inside out of the weather – a contractor’s cap...

So I had seen that 4 wheel Camper’s project M demo installed a Bed Rug to clean up the bed tub and provide better sealing in the living space of the camper. Most of my sealing is from duct taping all the holes in the bed and applying weatherstripping around the tail gate but I liked the idea of...

There is no canister on this model. I only know about the LB7 (mine is an early 2004 model) the fuel system is vented to atmosphere at the filler cap.
