Thanks for all the suggestions. The project is still a ways off just doing the research for now. More looking for a smaller 6 or 7 X12 for storage for Motorcycles, kayaks, etc. then convert it later. We usually rough it in our 22' RV. Except for the bed setup it is so dam comfortable. But...
I think this ignores the cost of towing the trailer and batteries and all the extra weight. How far can you really travel with the whole rig on a day worth of charging?
What happens if you go far out to camp expecting some solar charge to make it home and it rains or is overcast for the weekend?
Having owned an RV and travel trailer and looked at some newer ones, I realize most RV products are very cheaply made. As I am considering an enclosed trailer to haul and store thing in with the potential to make it into a camper, I am wondering if they are all cheaply made or is there any...
One more clarification if you guys would?
Does a charger or converter only provide a specific voltage and the BMS provides the charging functions? So if I were to upgrade to the proper converter in my RV it would put out 14.6 volts when the RV is plugged in but on the road my alternator will...
Im pretty good at wiring stuff, so plan on doing this. It turns out my batteries which have been drained to beyond flat are still useable at least for now. I am about to start working so much there is no chance to spend more than two day in the RV which I just tested my current batteries are...
My Born Free 22 has a two bank house battery that are needing replacement. I am tempted to replace them with the same large Walmart batteries for $300. Given the price of LifePO4 batteries are getting much lower, I am considering going LifePO.
What are the stumbling blocks of adding LifePO4...
I have a Class C RV a Born Free 22. I have a dual chuck inflator but still have trouble getting air into the outside tire of the dually. With a 45 degree angle reverse chuck i can barely get air into one side and only by cranking on the stem can I get air into the other side. I am afraid of...
I have a long bed extended cab and it gets me where I need to go. But my camper shell sleeping setup does not work for my 50+ back. So bought an 22' RV it is only 6" longer than my truck. If I were to do it over, I would likely get a Project M and build in cabinets that could be removable for...
I doubt it. A truck camper does not even require registration. The truck is the vehicle, a truck camper is just something strapped onto it. Your only requirement is tto ensure the Gross Weight is under the Trucks max. Even then I doubt you would get a ticket but if you get in an accident I...
Some I look at say for paved areas only. Just want to make whatever I get could handle snow on a dirt road, and maybe mud if needed in a pinch. I would not be using chains to push the capabilities if this RV the clearance is terrible on it.
I need some chains for my Born Free 22 footer. If it snows much the weekend after Thanksgiving I might not be able to get home without them. I read about using chains in an off-road situation.
What type of chains should I look for?
Tires are LT225/75R16s.
My Noco's have done fine by me. I have a 1 amp 7 and 10 amp Nocos. I have never had a problem keeping the Lithium batteries topped off. Between all my vehicles I have over a dozen batteries to keep charged throughout the year and have the plugs on the batteries so i can move the battery from...
I am not sure I explained myself concept well.
What I would love to see is a wedge style camper be 24-30" higher, looking just like the popups, until it wedges up vs popping up. The area over the cab would then have storage space even when collapsed. Instead of the wedge coming from a narrow...
