GXV Mercedes Unimog U500 Worldwide Expedition Vehicle Camper Truck - Exceptional Oportunity. (European/USA) - FOR SALE for serious health reasons

Wheelbase is rare - The German ones are shorter. As they had more industrial applications
In this case, is even more rare, cause I made a quite relevant modification on the original Unimog and GXV vehicle wheelbase, not in vehicle lenght in this case, but enlarging 20 cm the lenght of the axles (including wheel spacers of 10cm), for larger axle length (from 183 cm to 203 cm), plus double shock absorbers, to significantly improve, in conjuntion, off-road capacities with this high weight and general stability.

Very short and only bullet-points, for non-readers...🤣

Hello

Following my previous post (on Jack's suggestion) about my first terrible Lada Niva about 40 years ago ( https://expeditionportal.com/forum/...or-serious-health-reasons.247009/post-3204111 ) here are some picts of my second one almost 35 years ago. I made more than 150.000 Km on pure off-road trails with it, and for sure was my best partner for a long time up to date !!!! It was an early 90's Land Rover Defender 90 TDi, and the only modifications done were:

- A front Superwinch winch
- Wheels/tires 7.50 R 16 Michelin O/R (and others...)
- Crankcase protection
- ARB front and rear differential lock. The front one is basically always useless because it is practically never used (I used it only once in years, on a road that was a mud hole that, being straight, allowed its use for about 50 meters)
- Snorkel for raised air intake (and not only about water.... ;))

Sorry for the quality of pictures (same applies for the 2 videos i just uploaded to Youtube and linked here), but please remember what was available in the 90's!!! Most of those pictures where taken with a Sony Mavica camera with ..... 3,5 Diskettes ( Yes, Diskkettes !!! ) as the memory support, with up to 20 extremely small size photos per diskette !!). I do not remember the ridicoulous resolution, but at least you had your pictures!! even if carrying a full box of 10 diskettes, and could copy directly from the camera to the computer, by just extracting the diskette from the camera and then inserting it there !!! No cables, no connections, no compatibility problems.... 🤣 🤣 🤣

Aircon was original and absolute need even if snow pictures could say the opposite. 🤣

My dogs went overlanding so many times with me..... that remembering all those routes is still today one of my best memories. 😃🙂

Please tell me if I am wrong, but I thought part of the rules for posting on this particular part of the site is that you list a price. What is the current asking price for this amazing vehicle?

Great. Thanks. There is a lot to wade through. I assume it is OBO. Also, are you working with a European broker and/or someone to help with the transport back into the USA? Depending on the service, it could add $10-25K on to the price for us Yanks.
