Hey Yetti! Nice looking place you've found there. Looks like you'll be spending a lot of time mowing ha ha.

You were commenting about a lack of people putting up their adventure stories, etc., around here. I for one have really slowed down. Pretty much took all of this year off and focused on gardening and ham radio DXing. I have been doing this overlanding thing now for over 50 years! Wow, where did all that time go? So at 77 y.o., I'm slowing down. Have been getting shots in both eyes for macular degeneration, and now geographic atrophy, for the past 7 years. trying to schedule those and still have enough time to get out and spend several weeks at a time away has been tough. Think I've figured that one out for next year so I get shots for two weeks in a row, then have 8 weeks off.

So will be looking at things to do in the southwest, maybe this winter/spring, and definitely the new Montana BDR next September when most of the tourists are gone and the weather is cooler.

I will try to get something up for that next year. Please keep chronicling your adventures. They are always a great read.

I have wondered about you. Do you still have your Mission Overland trailer?

Sorry to hear about the eye issues. Best of luck to you.

The suspension on the Summit was destroyed crossing a basalt field in the central Oregon desert south of Bend several years ago. SWMBO preferred not to replace it with another one.

I can still drive, during the day!;)

Dale, thanks!

It’s a solid 2 hours of mowing and weed whacking for sure. Life changes, but I will still fit some adventures in. And it will help once I get a routine and some of the other things figured out for the new place.

Sorry to hear about your health, I think just continuing to keep doing things, and planning it always good. And it’s a great way to keep our brains busy during our down times. The southwest seems like a place I would enjoy but have yet to spend much time there. I am sure if you make it, I would be able to add some of the places you can explore to my own list, once I end up there.

Also, Mishka my dog is a great adventure partner! Critters are hands...Paws.. down the best people.

I squeezed a trip down the Columbia River gorge on ( August 31st, 2025) Sunday. It was a day trip, along as much of the old highway as you can do these days. And checked out Multnomah falls, (Its well known, and now requires a permit, so plan in the busy season. In the winter/fall as of Sep 1 no permit needed)

I will get some pictures posted sometime this week. It was a great holiday weekend, introducing my GF to Oregon, and the new place. Big steps

I have made that trip many times. Love it. I always liked how Multnomah Falls was open and no planning required. On rare occasions I don't like change. ;)
