Something to add here on the warmth of the light.
For a reverse light having a light that is bright and harsh isn't really an issue. Having a flood light that is harsh is very tiring on the eyes. You need something that provides a warmer light, that is less harsh, and at the same time...
I've been adding more general information videos to our website over the past few weeks.
They cover:
Hitching and unhitching a trailer.
Roof Top Tent set up
Opening the trailer lid with the tent deployed
How to make Vanilla Cinnamon Granola
I have hosted them on Youtube under the AT channel...
A little clarification.
I presume that when "washington taco" said he visited 4 Wheel Campers he was implying he went there to look at one of their slide in campers. 4 Wheel Campers is a fantastic company and great people, but they don't have anything to do with the JK Topper.
What is...

I take this as a real compliment to what I'm attempting to do here. You really know your full sized vehicles.
It would be exciting to do a build on the new truck if and when you get it.

From what I understand parts for full size Fords are available through out the Americas. Any idea on Dodge parts availability?
I'd agree on the number of people with full size trucks sitting in their drive ways. I'm hoping that this project will get a lot of people starting to think about...
Once I get the cabinets down on CAD, Computer Aided Design not Cardboard this time :) . We'll be able to make the system for the Fords. There will be some stretching that will have to happen for the 8ft bed but that's very straight forward in CAD. No idea on pricing until it gets computerized...
Fitting the interior
The first unit to be placed was the front chest. At 4ft wide (1,219mm) it slid back between the wheel wells unit it was up against the front of the bed.
The chest was held in place using threaded insert placed in the bed and bolts with washers inside the chest.
The...
I would install the rack using a threaded insert rather than a rivet.
You can get inserts with O rings that seal the insert against water entry. Then it's just a matter of bolting the rack in place.
If you do decide to use a rivet then I think I'd go with a stainless steel blind rivet.
Planning and Layout
Looking into the empty bed the truck and trying to envision the layout is hard work. In my case I was looking at 41 sq ft of nothing and trying to envision the finished product.
The first thing I did was to lay out lines of masking tape 2 ft in from the bed, then I sat...
The 4 step stairs fold up to 25" W x 13" H x 10 D (635mm x 330mm x 254mm). CR Brophy makes them in 2, 3, 4 and 5 step configurations depending on the height of the tailgate from the ground.
The box only needs to be a few inches larger all the way around for clearance, but the problem would be air circulation. The box would need to be vented. Vents are a problematic as they allow dust and moisture in. The solutions to this such as Goretex barriers don't work well when they are...
Looks like your awning is attached to the extrusion at the top and then probably bolted through the side of the camper from inside the aluminum clamshell case.
To remove it open the cover and remove the fasteners from the rear wall. Then tilt the awning up from the bottom so that it can be...
So far I like the Battery Bug.
It monitors the voltage of the battery and charge system, along with checking the voltage during cranking. It also displays the % of life left in the battery.
As I have a double battery bank I really should wire it up to the negative on one battery and the...
