    winter camping tips

I have a nice hot water bottle that's covered in a pink polar fleece jacket. Only a real man can sleep with a "hotty" like this.

    AT Rear Tire Carriers

We are just about to order up some rear tire carriers for Chaser and Horizon trailers. They will be bolt on fixtures swinging away from the tailgate toward the drivers side of the trailer. This will allow for easy access from the kitchen side of the trailer. The swing away carriers are designed...

    winter camping tips

Carbon Monoxide is the result of incomplete combustion, and you'll find it on the exhaust side of all the appliances that I know of that burn hydrocarbons. If you want to heat an area you need a heater with a separate combustion and hot air set up. The exhaust need to be vented in an area with...

    AT Fuel Can Holder

If I had them in stock they would be $20.00, but the company who makes them for us is re-quoting everything. I hope the price remains the same.

    AT Fuel Can Holder

James You are pricing the holder way too low, that's the problem. We just had a price increase on this product due to a materials cost increase, they are now $99.00 each new. I'd say $79.00 would be a better price.

    Dexter Axles: Input needed, please

It's a little bit like riding around in a VW Beatle, and being very happy with life, then getting a ride in a Mercedes and feeling the difference. You could have lived your whole life thinking the ride in the VW was warm and comfortable if you had never set foot in the Mercedes. It's the same...

    Dexter Axles: Input needed, please

The center hole on the stock Jeep rim is too small for the 3500 lb spindle. You can use a 2" adapter to space the rim outward allowing room for the spindle. The adapter also pushes the tire rim combination outward which compensates for the large backspacing on the rim. Adapters for the stock...

    Dexter Axles: Input needed, please

Very much agree with the integration of a shock absorber. If you can go with an adjustable shock like the RS9000 it's even better.

    Dexter Axles: Input needed, please

Craig My own experience with Independent Rubber Torsion Axles is that their ride on and off road is sub-par. If the axle fails there is no way to repair it. The best that can be done is a gusset welded in place to extract you from whatever remote location you are in. The only pluses I can see...

anyone know of a headlight upgrade

I polished the headlights on my Grand Cherokee using Mothers Metal polish. It can easily be done by hand rubbing in overlapping circles and then buffing with a clean cloth. When I was all done and cleaned up I put some Rain-X on them as the final finish coat. Amazing difference, I can actually...

    Dexter Axles: Input needed, please

Craig Read this article http://www.adventuretrailers.com/suspension.html There is a section on The Independent Rubber Torsion axle My advice would be to stay away from this style of axle for off-road use.

How Many Want Old AT Can Holders?

The anodizing process makes the outer layer of aluminum more resistant to corrosion, it also makes the layer harder and more resistant to wear. It also increase paint adhesion should you want to paint them.

The death of a diesel engine

I think I'm going to pull the pan off and have a look. It's difficult as I live in the mountains, it's snow season, and the truck doesn't fit in the garage. So any mechanical work is a challenge.Sending an oil sample out is a good idea. As far as recourse from the seller goes, I bought it off...

The death of a diesel engine

I have $12K invested in it. It's a really nice truck apart from the engine. I'm morally obliged to repair the engine if I were to sell it, as I wouldn't do so without a full disclosure to the new owner. If I'm going to repair it to sell it, I may as well fix it (great logic, sometimes I amaze...

The death of a diesel engine

I'm still scratching my head over this. I don't know which direction to go in, long block, donor vehicle engine transplant etc. I'm very confined as my personal finances are very tight after pre-paying my daughters college tuition. I can't see the truck doing anything more than sitting in the...
