My recommendation would be to not do this.
At the very least the cooling coils are going to get coated in grim and won't work efficiently. A fridge freezer is an important piece of kit and a badly functioning or broken fridge can ruin a trip.
More importantly, if you drink American beer at...
The future build
I have an AT FlipPac on order for the truck. It's color matched to the vehicle and will replace the Wildernest. The AT FlipPac will have a Windoor in the passenger side and a solid wall on the driver's side.
With the AT FlipPac in place the storage that is now in the vehicle...
The major modification
The major modification that has taken place is phase one of the storage in the bed of the truck. I'm going to be covering this in some detail later, but basically the design has to fit various parameters:
1) The size and shape of the bed itself
2) The size and shape of...
More recent modifications:
I was down in Prescott at our shop for 3 weeks recently and during that time I spent the evenings and a few Sundays working on the truck.
The first thing I did was to run 12 volt back into the bed for the fridge and accessories. It runs direct from a fused...
I'm starting a build on my Ford F250 Crew Cab with a 7 Ft Bed (2.13M).
The concept is to have a truck that will function as the owners daily drive or work truck and can be easily set up into an expedition vehicle.
I'll be covering the concept and design in detail in an up coming article...
Slides come in all shapes, sizes and qualities. Our experience has been that high quality, heavy duty slides hold up very well to abuse off-road.
Light weight inexpensive slides fall apart.

We do in house testing on all of the products we sell, or are thinking of selling. We don't publicize the data it's for in house use only.
Sharing data on good products is fine, it's more difficult on products that don't make the cut. Instead of getting into the controversy and politics of...
Side by side testing with the right test equipment is the only way to go as there are so many variables.
With a stated consumption of 5 amps and actual average consumption of 1.3 - 1.5 amps would be very good. Under the conditions we tested Engel fridges they averaged 1.2 amps per hour over a...
There is no real method of working out how efficient the fridge is and how much it will cycle on an off without testing it.
So the simplest way of working out the power consumption is to assume it's being run as a freezer with the compressor running all the time. If we compare it to an Engel...
Reading the posts I believe we all have a good idea of the % usage of our tires. What varies is the selection of the tire based on the percentage usage.
If you choose to run MT tires year round when you only encounter mud 15% of the time, then 85% of the time the tire is less than adequate for...
Wet the fabric down with a sprinkling from a garden hose. This will help the stitching swell and the weave tighten.
A friend of mine picked up his Jumping Jack and went on a hunting trip without doing this and got soaked the first night. Once you wet it down and let it dry all should be well.
To check the silicon seal around the arms of the torsion bar the lid has to be opened.
The weight of the lid is then pulling down on the seal and at that point you may see a gap between the silicon and the fiberglass. Just fill the gap with silicon and let it set up before closing.
When the...
I believe we all expect too much out of our tires. We want them to perform very well in every situation and that's a difficult task.
The KM2 have a great tread for loose off road conditions, but that tread won't work as well on road.
As with most things it's a series of compromises and every...
