    Am I being ridiculous?

Have you tried sway bar disconnects on the ZR2? I havent driven an IFS vehicle through rocky, slow trails that didnt suck with the sway bar connected. My F150 might as well not even have front suspension. Other than that, i would agree that an full sized truck is superior in almost every way...

    2023 GMC Canyon AT4X

The 2.7L wouldn’t increase power much at all. Its that It would have an extra 150 torque at a much lower rpm.

    New Bronco

The problem was that Ford’s diesel was half assed. The Duramax and 3rd gen EcoD are better in basically every way. cheaper, more powerful, better mpg’s, lighter(more payload) etc. That and the powerstroke had to compete with the Ecoboosts. The 2.7L is a $1000 option over the base V6 that gets...

    F150 - 2.7L vs 3.5L vs 5.0L

I’ve been thinking lately that the 4.6L 1UR in my GX460 just sucks compared to my 3.5. It’s constantly gear hunting and the trans tuning is poor. There are very few things my GX is better at than my 2014 Ecoboost. Even though it’s 1300 lbs lighter, considerably smaller profile, and on...

Why don't we see more Ford Ranger builds

I would say you are describing the average mid-sized buyer, not just taco. They are all “low rent” compared to any half ton and so the only people buying them are people who don’t want to deal with a full size. They are all old, all long in the tooth, and all a compromise.

    F150 - 2.7L vs 3.5L vs 5.0L

They have had it since 2019, but they just updated it for 2022 to have 430 ft-lbs of torque. Thats more than my 2014 3.5 EB [emoji23] What i have seen is that its not quite as efficient as the ford 2.7 but otherwise pretty close. Its peak torque was not as high but it makes it at 1500 rpm and...

Why don't we see more Ford Ranger builds

So was every other truck though. The Colorado was and the Frontier was from 2005 or whatever. The Taco technically was updated in 2016 but its still on the old chassis, and by most accounts, the driveline was a step backwards. GM also has the next gen twins coming out in 2023 and allegedly it...

    2022 Chevy Silverado ZR2

You ever seen a TRX in person? They are actually pretty tame looking. The first few I saw I had to look twice because I thought they were just leveled Ram Rebels. The new Raptor is also kinda bland looking to. Ive seen a bunch now and they don’t have the same muscular look of the 2017-2020...

Have A 2003 Kia Sorento 4x4 EX What To Do?

I think some people posting here might be missing the fact that a first gen Sorrento is a true body on frame, solid axle truck with 4hi/4lo. Its no slouch, it just doesnt have a lot of/ zero aftermarket support. But i think you could make a very cool, decently capable rig with some ingenuity...

What do you think of the Ultraterrains? I dont see them much because they are Discount Tire only, but everyone who has them says they are great.

    F150 - 2.7L vs 3.5L vs 5.0L

Last I heard, the 2.7 outsells the 3.5 and so its availability is greater in the used market. Honestly though, if I was going to take on the risk of a used Ecoboost, and I didnt know an exact maintenance history, I would pick the 2.7 all day long.

Ive seen a built Sorrento posted in the Lexus GX groups. While i dont know the details, they exist and I am sure you can find something.

    2022 Chevy Silverado ZR2

You cant really get anything right now. Standard F150’s/Tundras/silverados get markups so this thing sure will. But thats also why I said, “Maybe they will produce these in mass quantities” meaning they might actually be available enough some day to where we dont have to pay msrp or more.

    2022 Chevy Silverado ZR2

Here is what I don't love about it: 1. It comes with 3.23 axle ratios. I know, I know, the 10 speed. If I am wanting to move to larger tires, trying to turn them with a .63:1 10th gear and 3.23 axle's is gunna be insane. Especially at elevation. 2. While I am not positive, I think this will...

    2023 GMC Canyon AT4X

I am keeping a close eye on this one. ZR2 suspension and lockers with a 2.7L turbo making 310 hp and 430 torque. https://tfltruck.com/2022/04/news-the-all-new-2023-gmc-canyon-at4x-is-coming-here-is-everything-we-know/ As long as they don't price this thing ridiculously high like the Siverado...

Full Size - Small Diesels: why so unpopular?

I agree on the 99% thing. But the gassers dont have DPF's and Urea and all the other goodies. So they are likely more immune to short tripping and not getting up to temperature. The ecoboost is not totally immune to it either but its as simple as just changing the oil more often if you do short...
