Artistic Shots- Well thought out, framed (positioned), artistic shots only please.

Here's one of a few of the village kids. We had spent the afternoon surfing a break in front of their village. As we were walking back to the trucks, all of the kids started following me asking about the big yellow box in my hands. Only one knew enough English to hold a conversation but I...

Going through some old stuff this evening. Here's a shot from Samoa. It's the reef guys were surfing over and I was swimming over. I've got a few others that I'd like to share and will post them later this evening.

Code4beer's Mid Life Crisis Tacoma Build

Nice setup. Being a software engineer myself, I'll have to check out that S5 unit. What's the API based on?

    Integrating my wife.....

Wise grasshopper, enlighten me. I'm having one hell of an uphill battle getting everyone out. The issue for me isn't being there, it's getting there. I eased everyone into it. The girls (all 3) slept in the tent in the living room the day I brought it home. Then we had a camp out in the back...

    Dive! Dive! Dive!

Naui instructor for over 10 years. Haven't been on SCUBA, or teaching, much the past few years because of time constraints with the kids. Still free diving quite a bit as it's a bit easier to just go. Took my oldest daughter (she's 8) snorkeling for the first time about a month ago. Best thing...

Doing a little B&W remixing on some of the images I made in Borrego last week. Wanted to share one.

Thanks. I've been lurking here off and on for awhile but decided a few days ago to get active. I'll see what I can dig up from my travels to post up later this evening.

Here's a mid-summer thunder storm rolling into a village just south of Dusseldorf.

You can't go wrong with either one of those. I've used Photomatix and it's pretty slick but I also have some of Nik's plug-ins. Their HDR will probably be pretty good.

    Getting into the biz...

Ok, I have a little bit more time now for a more complete reply. I'm going to try not to repeat what has already been mentioned and I apologize up front if I do. I'm also going to stay away from gear recommendations. Nikon vs Canon is a lot like Windows vs Apple. Make your choice and stick with...

    Getting into the biz...

I ran my own studio for about 5 years. 90% of what I shot were weddings and families. The other 10% was stock, advertising and magazine work. However, that doesn't mean I was out shooting 90% of the time. Exact opposite. 90% of my time was sucked up with editing and running the business. 10% was...

Clark's crazy but his work is stunning. I've been in some heavy surf but nothing like where he puts himself. His work has always been a source of inspiration. I don't shoot with a fisheye as I feel the look is overused. In the water, I use a 16-35/2.8 and normally have it set at 20 or 24...

Ha. I could tell you but... :sombrero: I spent a few years of my photographic career shooting as a freelancer for several surf magazines. Most of the time was spent swimming in big water with a camera. I don't get to do enough of it these days but next to being in the middle of nowhere with my...

Thanks. No GPS track but here is what we covered. Off the 78, we hit the Rodriguez Canyon trail head. At the bottom of Rodriguez, we took a sharp right and headed up Oriflamme back towards the 78. Back at the 78, we headed east to S2 where we swung south and went to Canyon Sin Nombre. From...

Chile September 2010; Taking Some for the Team

Thanks for those. Made my morning. I'd love to have your "job" too. :) From my viewpoint, I'd love to see all the other "stuff". You'd probably be surprised at how well it would come out. It'd really finish off the documentary aspects to the trip.

I made this day trip about a week ago with a few folks from OAUSA. I hadn't thought about posting over here but here goes. It's 5am and the alarm is buzzing. One of the girls is snoring, the other two are talking in their sleep. The apartment is hot, like it never really cooled off over night...
