So mine used every standard bolt hole for the factory hitch but was much thicker steel. Im not near the truck so I sadly dont have a good photo to show. Essentially it sandwiches the frame but then there are two half inch steel plates that extend out along the bottom of the frame rails outside...
That's interesting. Did your bumper have the lower brackets extending beneath the frame as well? Mine bolts to the sides but also has half inch steel brackets underneath
The same. The steel used on this bumper is even thicker than the factory bar and uses the same tie in points :)
No problems so far! I've always loved the excursion, and I needed something big enough to haul an airstream when I eventually get one and this had a diesel and solid axles. The 7.3...
So ive heard some negative things about the aftermarket units as well. I had the same issue with running in two wheel drive until I checked the hubs. it caused me to get stuck on the beach :/ Anyway i just manually lock them now. Not a big deal
Sort of haha.
So after looking at the photos from the beach more closely and thinking back to how the truck felt on the sand I was concerned about the four-wheel drive system. Thankfully I checked it before my big trip next week, because it turns out the autolockers weren't working and I had...
We had good luck with them in our test. Ive wanted a national luna forever and finally bought one for this truck. The freezer is awesome, but dollar for dollar the whynter will be your best bet. The national luna is better, but if you need the money for a new winch id go for the cheaper option.
it's the 84" pioneer platform with quick release feet. They havent updated their site, but if you call and ask for the dimension of the rack on the Expedition portal excursion they will know :)
I'm an unusual case. We received a media discount which keeps us behind normal customers (as it should be) We also went back and forth on many design characteristics before finalizing. All told between rough agreement on the design to ship date probably four months? We were still doing...
They might but its probably not their gig. Those sorts of bumpers are good for rock crawling and racing because they are light and protect against rocks, but worthless for much else. Products like buckstop and ARB are intended to protect you and the vehicle in case of an animal strike or...
Maybe I'm crazy, but when I ran it in October our 200 series scraped through one portion of lippencott by the hair of its chinny chin chin. The time before it had been fine, but rains had washed out a decent chunk and the wheels were probably inches from the edge.
The cool thing about buckstop is they'll accommodate whatever you want. I specified that I wanted reverse lights, parking sensors, dual swingouts, and an Alubox 120 on the one side. They made it up and are sending it over :)
So I spent an hour wandering around home depot looking for something that would work as a connecting pin. I was about to give up when I thought back to the room I had been working in that morning and the hair pin I stepped on. I bought a pack of xl bobby pins and they worked perfectly :wings:

That was my original plan, but I was worried that the shaking on the road might jar them loose. The swingouts on bumpers tend to get more feedback than other areas of the truck, and I wouid need to use fairly large magnets. Still might work though!
Alright here are the photos as promised. There are no pins so I cant setup a proper layout. Items are mostly there for scale minus the bottom row. Also the box will be run vertical like in the final picture
The case is really deep so I will probably run spare fuel bottles behind the stove. I...
So it's 1 am here and I need a break from writing, so I figured I would post an update. First a photo
Second, and more importantly, I received a picture of my bumper before powder coat! Im so pumped to get this thing in. Buckstop said it might ship monday so Im crossing my fingers.
Third...
So I didn't need to modify anything but it was certainly snug. The only thing I can think that may have required trimming were the weird brackets dropping down outside the tow hooks on either side. They mounted to the bumper and were frickin welded on. The metal strap would usually go straight...
