I hate to say this but i think at 6'2" you might be disappointed. I'm 6' and it's tight for me. If i don't use a sleeping bag and just use a blanket, then it's not bad at all, but the extra padding at my feet of the sleeping bag mashes against the tent while my pillow mashes the other side...
My few points of advice would be...
You will want the heavy springs if you plan on doing everything you have mentioned. Go ahead and do that. Also, the yellow bushings to correct castor aren't enough, so go on sleeoffroad.com webpage and get the plates or the (can't remember if they are 3...
Thank you for that response Markimus, that's exactly what i needed to hear. I guess reluctantly i'll shelf the idea of swapping the ARB out for a Foxwing... darn.
Can you do me a favor?!
Can you open the tailgate hatch on the 80 series land cruiser with the foxwing awning extended and snap a few pics so i can see how he hatch hits the awning? I have been contemplating getting a foxwing but i have new lift struts on the hatch and i'm worried it's really...
cool. I live about 1.5 hours from Uwharrie. In the rain, that place is a mess. Even the most aggressive mud tires won't help you.
Also, i have the same JB tent, except in white. There are a few tight trails up there that i get nervous about leaning the tent into a tree, so i usually won't...
I just pulled the trigger on an ARB awning.
I agree that the setup alone is a bit of a pain in the butt. I'm sure i'll get better with it, but it's still awkward.
I really wanted the fox wing but thought it was too flimsy and i kept reading warning after warning about setting it up alone...
RobRed, thanks for those videos.
When you are adding the custom maps, you said you entered a URL.... where did you get that? Is it a link to a file you have saved somewhere on the cloud?
Moisture is a killer of tents and it's waterproofing. Even on high end North Face tents, if you put them away damp, the water proofing will begin to just peel away.
Those look like they are for the Rhino Rack HD bars. I just mounted the awning brackets onto my HD bars and the hardware looks very similar. The HD bars are square and the little metal pieces actually fit inside the bar.
Sorry to ask a dumb question... but what is the U2 thing? Is this relating to the band U2?
I guess i'm not really into them so not sure if this is album art or what.
I just picked up a Sony a6000. I'm a beginning photographer so i think for the price and the quality based on the reviews i've read, i hope i made a good choice. Should be here in the next day or two.
Icon is a great shock. I had slee tell me that he actually designs the 4 inch spring around the OME sport shock, so that's what i went with. He also said that in his opinion, unless you are racing across the desert or getting crazy, the radflow and other expensive shocks are overkill.
I...
alan does make a good point about the shocks.... usually the shocks are valved to match the springs... for the most part. So make sure that you are comparing spring rates and shock rates, otherwise you might complain that the springs are not what you thought only to realize that the limiting...
