No I kinda agree, especially with my 5.7. I think the 4l8x needs another gear on the top end, especially behind the 8.1. But I like the spacing of the existing gears down low with the big block. Its power comes in real low on the rpm curve so it doesnt jump much.
Well I promise you BP units are exactly as I stated. It has nothing to do with the child lock. No disrespect intended but since you didnt understand the 10 18, I guarantee you dont know.
It depends on the year. The latter gmt900s had the 6L9x series trans. Not sure what year that started but I think 2009. I severely dislike the 6lxx trannys. It always seems like its searching for the right gear. The 4l8xs are just always solid even though its only a 4 speed. The 6speed Ally's...
Nice burb! Welcome to the 2500 party. Oh and im really digging that opel. Grandads business partner had 11 of them in various states of complettion when I was coming up. Always loved tooling around in the good one.
10 18?
The outer door handle issue is not just child locks. There is a physical disengagement to keep the rear doors from being opened after someone is placed in custody from the outside.
As for the inner door handles Ill have to check but Im pretty sure the handle linkage is disconnected...
Fleet prices are never MSRP. Theyll go out the door for 60k.
Either way if your gonna put your kids in that thing you need to disinfect the hell out of it. Theres a good chances since its a Burb it was used as an EMT rig and god only knows what was in the back.
Also make sure the rear door...
Yeah I know, we were talking about suburbans not trucks. If you read my post it actually says doesnt have the allison like the pickups. I have both, a 2500 suburban with the 8.1 and its actually a 4l85e not the 4l80e and a 3500 dually farm truck with the allison.
Ej I was looking at your sig and noticed you plan on an allison swap. I dont know if its been mentioned yet and it may not apply to the square bodies. The reason the gmt800s dont have the allison behind the 8.1 (i know youre going diesel) like the pickups, is because of the tunnel. Its too small...
Race and performance engines are balanced and blueprinted before assembly. 1980s mass produced assembly line gm v8s were slapped together with the next parts coming down the line. It wasnt uncommon to have rods from different suppliers in an engine, those are called friday builds.
I wouldnt...
I think youre worrying too much about the balance. Any quality crankshaft is going to be balanced from the manufacturer. I guarantee that gm didnt go and balance every engine after assembly. They slapped that crank in and shoved 8t down the line.
Yes, the front axle (halfshafts/cv axle) spins when it is in two wheel drive. The hub assembly and front halfshafts are solid there is no freewheel in the hubs. The front driveshaft (propshaft] is disconnected from the axle in the differential in 2wd until the actuator is engaged.
Rayra thats what I was talki g about earlier when i said to cut out the inner ring on your truck and cut the outer mount off the new one then press the new bushing and steel ring into the old mount. Once you get the pieces apart you should be able to use a ball joint press or fashion a small...
Its one of the many variants of the G class (Gwagen, gelandwagen) light utility vehicles. Maybe a 250. That appears to be a civi one done to look like a military version. You see the civi ones running around Belair, CA high schools instead of jeeps. My dad had one from the early 80s for awhile...
First thing is check your oil level if you havent already. Check for leaks. Its a common issue when switching to syn oil to develop leaks around seals and gaskets. Are you using the same viscosity syn as you were dino oil?
Second I would use seafoam l8ke Crazydrei mentioned. Its a good product...
I havent measured but from a quick glance it looks like the 2500 frame is several inches "taller" than the 1500. I havent compared side to side or measured but it looked bigger. If one of you wants to post measurements I will go measure mine. Just indicate where you measure. I do know that the...
