I'm running that kit on my 100. It is not universal! You remove the bump stop to run them, and then add sections of it once you are lifted. I have AHC and I haven't had an issue with the suspension up or down. It's done great so far! Just remember to drill out the hole for the air line to...
In regards to my 40, the MT/R is a less agressive tire! LOL I need to replace my 37x14.50x17 bias Iroks at some point. I hope I'm not disappointed with the MT/R...
I think you would be happy with the KO2's or the Wild Peaks. The KO2's are more aggressive but I'm not sold on the better sidewall. I've killed a lot of BFG tires with sidewall slashes!
Wait, you want to step up to 37's?!? :lurk:
Okay, back to the question at hand. I don't think that you will miss running a MT 90% of the time. Out of the other 10%, 9 of them will be when you turn to look at your 80 as you walk away from it, just because of looks. I think the benefits of an...
I don't have any specs on the 37. I am running a 285 on my 100 Series and I can tell you they work a heck of a lot better than a BFG AT or Duratrac on that application. I have also watched them in the rocks (dry) and was amazed at how they stuck. I'm completely sold on them!
I tow quite a bit with my 2000 LX470. I wish I would have waited for an '03, just to have the extra gear in the transmission. That being said, she actually tows very well. I have added rear air bags and a trailer brake controller because I tow a lot of different trailers. If you are just...
I think that going to an AT isn't a bad idea for you and how you use your 80. Personally, I would go with Faulken Wild Peaks (Rocky Mtn) over the Nittos. I love them on my 100.
I will make sure to keep everybody posted, since I don't think my buddy is on this forum. He goes by "Red Sox Cruiser" on 'Mud. If you need anything in the meantime, feel free to contact him there.
Yeah, LabRak had some issues. Hopefully that will all change now, though. A fellow club member has bought into LabRak as a partner to take over the marketing and customer service side of things. They are still in the transition period, but I promise things will get better. It's too bad Shane...
Hind sight being 20/20, I didn't have to trim the fenders at all IF I would have gone with a 12.50 wide tire. Just food for thought in the future.
Here she is flexed out with the spacers removed and the beadlocks are an inch wider, but still 3" backspace:
Beautiful rig! It makes me miss my 80 a lot... However, with that much lift, I think you need some 37's! I had the same suspension set-up except I cut 3" out of my front fender as well. This is how it sat on 37x14.50x17 Bias Iroks and 17x8 wheels (3" BS).
Last night I used Right Stuff on the sunroof where it was leaking between the glass and the rubber seal. I also pulled the 3rd brake light, cleaned the foam "gasket", and sealed it back up with Right Stuff... Last but not least, I spent 2 hours with a heat gun, ShopVac, and paper towels trying...
Hey Mike,
I found the Cobra 18 WX ST II was perfect for in the dash of an 80 series. It was inexpensive, worked awesome, and had weather channels. The only downside I found (at least with my 40th Anniversary rig with the electronic climate control) is you needed to take the unit apart and...
