    Lexus LX470 Rear Cabin Conversion...

I figured I would revive an old thread. This cargo / camper system is now sitting in my garage waiting to be installed in my 100. All of the plumbing and electronics have been removed and I need to decide how much of it is going to go back in. I also need to figure out exactly what I want to...

91 LC: Are they really this slow?

True, but have you ever replaced HGs on a 3.0? To me, that is an engine failure because I would be throwing the engine away! LOL. I don't think they are all owner caused. There are too many failures (and Toyota changing the HG design) for that to be the case. Engine issues aside, it's just a...

91 LC: Are they really this slow?

You can replace the 2 cat system with one aftermarket 3-way cat for a lot less. And 75% have (or had and will have again) head gasket issues or the engine replaced. You don't have to believe me, it's very well documented.

91 LC: Are they really this slow?

If you can swing for a 1FZ motor (93+), it will be a lot nicer to drive power wise. The 3FE is a strong tractor motor. It is slow, but I would still do that over a 3.0l V6 4Runner (which is what your price range can get you). The 3.0l is slow and unreliable.

    Croak's UZJ100 Build

I'm currently out of a BMW, unless you include my wife's Mini Cooper S. I have owned an e30, a couple e32's, and my last one was an e90 (The salesman was really confused when I walked in and said I wanted a 328i with a manual and no options. LOL). I would love another e30, they are just...

    great tire size debate

Yeah, running 285's on my LX470 I feel the lack of gearing. But then again, I pull a trailer a lot. It all depends on what you can stand and how you use your vehicle.

New Build - Choosing a Land Cruiser for Family Overlanding

Since you can run 285's on stock suspension, the AHC suspension made sense for me and I love it. However, I won't pay to fix it. If it craps out, I will put a lift kit on it and call it a day. The only downside to my plan is the AHC system is pretty complex and it takes some time to remove...

New Build - Choosing a Land Cruiser for Family Overlanding

This may help you out: 100-Series guide: http://www.sleeoffroad.com/newbie/newbieUZJ100.htm 80-Series guide: http://www.sleeoffroad.com/newbie/newbie100.htm I have owned both 80 and 100 Series. They are both awesome but I love my 100. With A-TRAC, I don't even miss being triple locked.

    100 rear lower control arms.

Correct, the MT arms aren't as much clearance but will free up some movement. There are arguments both ways as to what is better...

    2000, 100 series build

I love my 100, but I really miss my 80... I'm just lucky enough to have a 40 for the trails. If I was limited to only one Cruiser, it would be another 80, hands down.
