This truck has been great to us, never letting us down. I had planned on...
I saw this thing in person years ago and thought it was pretty cool. I'm not convinced there is anything new on the website. What makes us think there is any new development going on here? The truck is a 2001 and I'm pretty sure that's the one we saw back then.
For us, the XP was our choice for several reasons. First and foremost are the capacities. A 75 gallon fresh water tank and an available 62 gallon diesel tank mean more time out and longer trips before returning to civilization. We could easily spend several weeks to a month out on trails before...
I've been holding on to this website with plans to activate it when we retire and start traveling full time in an XPv1. When an opportunity came along to acquire a lightly used version of the camper we had been dreaming of on an extremely well maintained Dodge truck, I couldn't let the deal pass...
A few more photos...

A new adventure awaits us.
I learned of a lightly used XPCamper for sale not far from me. The camper sits on a 2005 Ram 2500 CTD with Deaver springs and Icon shocks. One drive and I was sold. The previous owner didn't go off-roading as much as I intend so I'll be putting some more aggressive...
I think what Overland Hadley was concerned about is most pop overs like the Wildernest and Flippac have more space for the mattress and folded tent. Perhaps you've got this sorted out already such as having them drop into the shell more than the brand names do. It's not immediately evident from...
John,
Thanks for the professional input amongst us amateurs. I never understood the top vent but what you said makes sense. As with many subjects, to those not in the business it all seems so simple. I think our best option is a fabric and design similar to the JK Habitat, but only you pros can...
I mentioned this in the other thread but thought I should post it here too. I don't see a great need to redesign the Flippac, just the tent. If someone would make a replacement tent like the Nemo JK Habitat tent they could sell it as a replacement to current owners and could market it to FRP and...
Exactly. I think there will be a market for a replacement tent long before there is a market for a new flippac. If someone were to do the tooling necessary, many of us would upgrade and they could market them to AT and FRP as an all-weather option for new Flippacs.
I wish I could swap my existing Flippac for a barn door Flippac that didn't need a rain fly but I'm saving my $$$ for an XPcamper at this point I think. That's something I think I can retire in and hit the (off)road full time. Who needs an address?
Once you get to FRP they are great people, they just don't handle phones or follow up very well. I'd have them look at the hinges to see if they can repair/replace them at the same time as the torsion bar.
At least one, me. The van has a couple of advantages. First and foremost are approach and departure angles. Next, the on board storage of two spares is attractive but they are also developing a pass through option that would replace the current spare setup and offer a different type of...
Is anyone coming up from the San Diego area that can do me a favor? I bought a Pelican case from a guy on here and I'm hoping someone could deliver it to Toys-for-Tots for me. I'm in Victorville and you could save me a trip if you're coming up to Gorman for the event. I'll see you there.
