Request for barn door info for flippack

I started with a torsion bar but it didn't do all that much so I went with the internal gas assist model. My truck, but not my model, came with it as an option so all I needed to to was buy a few parts.later model years actually have everything installed except the gas strut. It makes it a true...

    need some advice

If you think you might be going somewhere that you'll need a winch you might think about a different suspension option. Airbags do to like lateral movement. I tore one of mine right off the mount. Starting with a 3/4 ton truck I doubt you'll need any upgrade anyway. I'd at least wait untili had...

Request for barn door info for flippack

I added a tailgate lift assist to mine and now we can easily lift it from inside the bed. Depending on your model of truck you may have some of the parts already installed.

How does the XP camper attatch to the flatbed?

Marc is very responsive. Just send him an email from his website.

Bolt on Our Flippac Question. Help.

You don't HAVE to use the lift arm at exactly parallel. You can start it from an angle that will still clear the shower all the way through the movement. It will be harder to get started but not impossible.

    Flip-pac mattress alternative?

After our mattress was worn out we tried a couple of alternatives and finally settled on one of these: http://www.nemoequipment.com/nemo2012-cosmoair-and-pillowtop-pad. The two person one with the two air inserts. It has a foam wedge to prevent a gap between the pads. We can pump it up in...

    Question for campmate owners

I think it attaches to the bottom of one of the flip out doors, if its the piece I'm thinking of. Its meant to hold paper towels I think but they tend to unravel so its not a particularly useful piece. We keep all our pots and pans, dishes, tableware, spices, foil, spatulas and other...

    Doc's AT FlipPac Build Thread

I'd second that one. I had them recommended to me and I ended up tearing the top mounting bolt off one of them. Apparently they didn't like three tons of lateral movement. Deaver's are on order, which is what I should have done in the first place.

    Camp chuck box on ebay

Nice price. Out of curiosity I searched online and found them for $180 new! Seems like a nice Camp Mate alternative if you have less storage needs and/or less space. I wonder why hese sorts of things come on the market and go away fast but someone is always looking for one.

flip pac won't fit on tacoma

Thanks for the compliment. It was just a tailgate lock like you suggested. There are options available commercially that should work well. No need to over complicate it with one of my contraptions which tend to be part kit, part entertainment of making it.

Pressurized Scepter Jerry Can Faucet and Shower

I searched around the plumbing parts until I found a brass fitting that fit and had enough of a flange to fit a rubber washer to seal the can.

Pressurized Scepter Jerry Can Faucet and Shower

That was my original plan but I was having trouble finding the right parts, specifically the piece that you attach the hose to on the inside of the lid. The gravity feed is nice but I have to completely disassemble it to get it out of my swing out. I may revert to what you've done if its too...

Pressurized Scepter Jerry Can Faucet and Shower

I wanted a gravity feed option for water delivery from my existing Scepter jerry cans that could also be used as a shower or sprayer for dishes. For $10 in brass parts, a short coiled hose and a garden sprayer, we now have a nifty faucet/sprayer. Gravity feed only with a relatively full can...

    How to lift flippac lid???

I seem to recall someone in a similar situation just getting inside and pushing it up and over. It would be good to have someone to help slow the descent on the outside.

    Nissan Titan/FRP Flippac Build

Thanks. I kind of love it too. The monitor replaces my stereo head unit and is a Pioneer. The cameras were as recommended by the guys at Al&Eds. I Originally went in to get a small monitor and just a back up camera because it can be hard to determine where my cans are when backing. After...

    Nissan Titan/FRP Flippac Build

I've been very busy but finally have a little time and good weather to show some more of my build. Front Bumper, winch and lights Rear camera Front camera Okay, so the front camera is more of a toy but it could be useful when climbing out of a canyon blind due to the terrain. See below...

    K-Wrench for Scepter MFC caps

I've been using a strap wrench or a mallet thinking I needed to get the little tabs locked together. Isn't the catch on the tab on the keeper ring designed to go past top dead center? I've never tested them just hand tight. Anything worth doing is worth overdoing, right?

    K-Wrench for Scepter MFC caps

Ever think of making one of these with an MWC tool on the opposite side? Or does anyone know of a similar product for MWCs or both? I get into water cans more than fuel cans. A double sides tool would be perfect for me.

    Flip Pac bed supports

I'd recommend finding a source locally because the parts are slightly different from different manufacturers so the holes may not quite line up even though the look the same. The is especially true of the hinges. The two parts used are called deck hinges and internal eyes. You can substitute...
