After 3 seasons (60k) they are worn through. Stan the man who takes care of all things warranty in Oz says that it is only a problem for Cape York operators, therefore sympathises with our problem, but says it is OUR problem...... typical Daimler Chrysler! Chassis cracks at rear crossmember...

He missed the transfer case selector cables rubbing on the front cross member, maybe without the corrugations they aren't an issue.......

Ours are around the 11' mark, they handle it well.

Sorry i haven't measured it for you yet, both my little 649 have been working in daintree, i will get to see them eventually......

On the old model, we used to use the original rims with only the outside rear and the track was perfect, from memory, it changed with the 637 ( 4.2 lt model?) then we used flat centres and the track was perfect again. I'll measure it up tomorrow when i do a brake adjustment and post tomorrow...

I run mine at 55 psi, at 6000kg max speed 80 km/hr. I've had no trouble over extemely rough corrugated roads, but it is fairly slow work. I don't see any issue with 60psi when empty.

Sounds good, but just watch your weight/speed ratings. PM me if you want to sell the std. rims........ BTW, the cape roads are the best they have ever been :)

Mullins wheels in S.A. make the best set of 19.5" rims for a canter, and tubeless!!!

Great engineering mate! What size are the tyres on the rear axle? Love the use of air bags with the equaliser. Do you have torsion bars as well? Will you fit shock absorbers to the mounting system? Great work mate, keep it going!!!!!!! We fitted similar systems using trunions on Unimogs, but...

If you are capable of sitting next to a 3208, you should find the old fuso quite refreshing;)

True Sean. 5000k service is about it, sludge build up after that and they start chewing oil... filter at 10,000k. If you drive them hard, all the breakable stuff (exhaust mounts, plastic fairings, transfer case guards on the 100series) breaks off and you throw it over your shoulder. Why replace...

Only Fraser Island and Cape York with these Cruisers, I had a Troop carrier that i chopped and raised the roof on, but I'll have to get my scanner to work with this imac before i can post some great pics of these things at work. The transfer cases are ok on the 4.2 natural asp.(HZJ) I'm not sure...

That would be interesting Baja. It is possible to do via removing the origional pack and manufacturing new main and Wrapper slightly longer to compensate for the increased arc (and maybe a little heavier). This in turn would also make more room for a bellows type airbag between the Chassis rail...

OK, we use a 13 leaf spring pack and no helper springs. The spring hangers on the chassis are removed and relocated using the ex-front holes as the new rear holes. Locate Bolts through the rear of the spring hanger and insert into the old holes that are closer to the front of the truck, it...
