Ah, gotcha-b/c you know if you don't like the stock rims you have....someone would be happy to take them off your hands! :) (they are unequivocally my fav style including Compmotives and such).
My comment to that regard had little to do with the battery; I would hope that anyone letting one sit for a time would hook it up to a trickle charger given how much electricity they consume. Rather I have found that Rovers writ large like to be driven-perhaps you are correct and the LR3...
What barrel length, what type of ammo do you see yourself using, and of course intended application. Absent that info, either would do but I'd say as a rule for most carbines shooting most modern ammo 1:8 over 1:9.

So I'll chime in a few places based off your comments just to add food for thought, mind you this isn't to be overly critical just to tease out the implications of your application:
-Won't be a daily driver; the LR3 won't like this and won't deal well with it. Rovers by and large like to be...
I will just point out that my experience across LR platforms tends to see an exceptionally wide variance in tolerances. Solihull is Solihull, even with as good as the 3 & 4 is compared to previous generations-they are still Land Rovers!
I have a friend who has installed two front seats in the back but there is limited room for a fridge in between (read: none). May be better to get an old 60 section to butcher down to a 40 size and then cover the butchery w/a seat cover, just my $.02.

I will admit I watched for about 3-4 weeks before I snagged on at $60, & as you said I'd considered just Amazon Priming it at ~$90 but for some reason that seemed too steep for the return on investment.

This is a first heard for me; do you have the different part numbers between an HD model half shaft and the standard?
Given how the HD package locker works I'd be surprised if LR beefed up the rear axle since it is progressive and rapidly reverts.
I'd vote #1 unless you really have a compelling need to go #4. To me the cost is worth the facilitation of getting it done without losing your mind.

The E doesn't do oil; the II might (I haven't looked at its features in a LONG time)-since this truck, thus far, doesn't seem to release oil back to nature like my D1 does I figured coolant temp and volts were adequate. It is def nice to have a lot of electrical related input since I've got...
Scangauge E
I'm a big fan of the scangauge line of products having put an SG II in my D1 a long time ago. With the IID tool a SG isn't really necessary for a D3 but my bias, and finding a decent deal on ebay, lead me to grabbing one of the Scangauge E models to try out and provide a little...
We tortured some traction jacks up at Twin Mountain. They lasted an afternoon. Mind you it wasn't fair, we did incorporate the unimog into the testing-I think for 'I'm stuck in a ditch after avoiding a snow plow' they could work well enough, but if you are going to actually use them amidst...
I'd keep the trasharoo on the back and put them on the rack, with the traction jacks too if you just got a pair-I have found that four works a lot better than two the majority of the time but that could be a facet of the mud around here!

Maxtrax on the roof rack
The weekend's great weather and some free time with my able assistant prompted the movement from proposed mounting location to actually affixing the maxtrax on the roof. Fortunately I'd had some aluminum flat stock already drilled with the holes for the pins the...
I would say the stock wheels are more than adequate truth be told, these offer an interesting alternative but LR wheels have always been rather good for their intended purpose.
My understanding for the LR3 is that you will need to wire in the loom to the e-dif and then somehow reprogram the vehicle in its new configuration which is something that, allegedly, the dealer can't even do so you'd have to get creative there likely with an aftermarket solution.
Or put...
I don't think it is a question that a fully lockable dif will be superior to the limited slip-and with an air (or e) locker the selectability retains great manners of course. The big factor is cost; if you are willing to sink the cost of ARB or Ashcroft-buy once, cry once and overbuild!
That...
