No, the rounded rear of the case folds down (see the middle pic). The window opens to about level with the ground and hits the case and stops. It doesn't bother the awning at all. With the awning closed, the window opens all the way.
Spoyla Awning
I added an Eezi-Awn Spoyla awning thanks to Equipt. It was the perfect size awning for the rear of my truck at 57" wide (59" for the case). It is 83" long so it still provides a decent amount of shade. I flush mounted it straight to the back of the Flippac shell just above the...
I just ordered a 10# fiberglass/composite propane tank. I got the tall one since I'm more concerned about floor space than height. It'll be much lighter than the 20# steel tank to start, plus 1/2 the propane but plenty for a fairly lengthy trip (cooking only, no heater). I'll let you know what I...
Small but Useful Mod
I added d-rings behind the pole holders at all four corners, in the middle where the cot sets up, and above the side windows. It gives me anchor points for netting and privacy curtains (for the porta-potty).
Looks great bb. How about putting it on and testing it for rain by spraying the top with a garden hose and plant sprayer :snorkel: :REExeSwimmingHL: for a while? And of course the obligatory questions... when can we order? how much? when will they be made? (not that I'm anxious at all)
National Luna PPP
I drilled a 1.5"(ish) hole though the bedliner and truck bed which was a little :yikes: . Then ran the PPP wires along the wireloom attached to the frame and up to the truck battery. I build up the floor of my sleeping platform/storage box to attach it to, dropped in a Group...
I tried drilling into one of the support pieces where the tent attaches to the top of the shell (they look like there are 2x2s around the frame of the tent/top of the shell) just to attach a hook for a curtain. All I did was grind up fiberglass and didn't get very far. It was a tiny drill bit so...
We LOVE our MSR Reactor for boiling water. We use a larger stove for meals but for hot water for coffee/tea/oatmeal in the morning without pulling out the full kitchen it's great.
I think all the tents are the same size. It's been a five years since I ordered mine. It was the first for a Titan but I seem the remember them saying some to the effect that the tents were all the same but the shells were designed for each truck. How does your fly connect to your Flippac and...
Perhaps the block is just in the "App Mode" as described here: The App Mode feature, which can only be accessed when the vehicle is in park and the hand brake is fully engaged, lets users view a connected iPhone’s video content from Safari, YouTube and other select apps2 directly on a larger...
The FRP one seems to be proven to stay on and repel rain from what I've read. I've also heard those other things as well so you're right, it's a give and take. Our storms, when they happen in the desert, tend to have a lot of wind associated with them along with the rain so my priorities would...
Green works for me too. One question I have though is rainfly material will sometimes allow water to weep through if it touches the tent. Will this be waterproof even on the areas where it will touch the Flippac tent? Also, what are we looking at as far as timing? FRP may have one available for...
I wish I could have come down too. I was still calling them daily (their suggestion) to inquire about the rainfly. I may be headed down there Friday if they have one for me. Although critical of FRP in the past I have always been impressed with Diane's customer service. Sometimes it can be...
Yep, that's about what I was talking about. I may have the kid that did my rock sliders try to fab something up. I'd just be afraid of the hinge being strong enough. Time for more internet research on hinge options.
Maybe rear bumpers are just not strong enough on their own. I'm not sure if this is in the right forum but it seemed to be the best fit. I have a Nissan Titan with what I think is a fairly strong rear bumper. I'm looking to add a swing arm to hold a gas can or two. I don't need it to be stout...
