Brand new Power Wagons with the much better 8 speed tranny are trading in the low 60's in Utah. Tradesman models in the mid 50s. Full factory warranty has some real value especially if you extend it before the bumper to bumper is up. A real key with any recent new vehicle with all the issues...
Doesn't the DC DC charger prevent the batteries from accepting too much charge and overloading the alternator and also keeps the charge voltage in the acceptable range?
@DaveInDenver Hugely helpful and confirms my very uneducated suspicion. I have an uneven draw issue with my two battery setup, although I suspect it may be due to a bad BMS. Could also be because of the crappy OG Northstar wiring setup, which consists of wire nuts and inline common 30 blade...
I'm about to expand from 2x 100ah Lifepo4 to 4x. I've seen had the two diagrams below recommended for equal total circuit resistance. Gonna give the first one, called "halfway" by Victron, a whirl FWIW:
Solid price. Good deal. I'd put it in as many places as possible. KSL (SLC), Craigslist (yuck) and FB marketplace (yuck yuck). I had lots of interest on this forum for my truck sale last month but sold on FB MP ultimately. Sat for 2 months for what I thought was a smoking deal.
IMHO people are...
I just wanted to tune in and tell you how BAD*** your rig is. The perfect medium sized pickup setup. Wouldn't change a thing. 👊👊
The OVRLND flatbed setup with full barn doors, and their willingness to customize it for you, really puts them ahead of the competition.
Tell that to any county road in Utah/AZ/Nevada after a single heavy rainstorm. Not uncommon for a 3-5 foot canyon to cut across the road until springtime road re-grading. Bridge ladders can help.
Cool truck! Would be a nice addition to, er, somebody's fleet.
- Miles? Any issues or upgrades with the Cummins?
- Do you know if Corbeau sells replacement seat covers?
- More shots of interior and truck bed shelving?
GLWTS!
Awesome trip report! Magical section of country. I've done some light exploration up there but not a deep dive like this, so thank you kindly for the beta! Each little town has its gems. One of my friends runs one of the best Japanese Izakayas on the planet in Point Arena of all places. Izakaya...
Speaking generally here, you probably will have to upgrade your alternator and best move is to move to lithium batteries for cooking, heating and fridges. All associated wiring, controllers etc. Might need an inverter too depending on what you want to do. I love propane. Checks a bunch of boxes...
Will you expound on this? I currently have the Gaia Pro which includes these things in reverse and I like it and consider it a real value add. If you go in reverse and do it through the mag subscription side what version of Gaia do you get? Pro?
It's the only game in town right now on a few levels. It has its issues for sure. Wonky flow with activating user data layers. The move away from multiple satellite layers to the new crappy single layer is a problem. Sat layer is pure hot garbage with zero detail. I get that Google Earth/maps is...
Interesting idea. I do think softer suspension is the best move for the sake of all your gear as mentioned above. But thinking out loud, is look for some hifi sub speaker isolation feet to glue to your cooler and fridge. They make them out of silicone blobs. They work well.
