Rams have the best running radius. My Ford and Chevy long beds have been atrocious. And the Chevy droopy frame. Yuck. Radius is much more important than a lot of people think. A thought: Nice thing about a flatbed is that you can go short wheelbase and an 8 foot flatbed. Turning radius and break...
Following closely. I had no idea they would build a flatbed version. Pretty sure the OVRLND is the best camper for the price given the customization they will do. If they will do a flatbed it's a game changer. Anxious to see the layout. Will the sidewalls drop for bed access or just rear entry?
Also should mention, it has the short cab to axle, which is hard to find in the F450/550. With the extended cab the wheel base is about 6" shorter than a F250/350 Crew Cab Long bed. And with the wide track front axle the turning radius is tight.
The flat bed is a 9 foot steel checkerboard...
Hey Baja, forgot to answer your question. Yes, cruise control and AC. Everything else is manual: hubs, xfer case, windows, doors. 16K lb GVWR. I had plans to soften the ride with custom springs and single it out and put a shell on it. But alas, 'tis not to be.
Thanks man. It's a great rig. We've only owned it for a short time. We bought is as a construction and transport vehicle for one of my bars. The construction project is done and my employees are afraid of driving around the city so off she goes!
Weird indeed. Check your Sync settings on the phone you may have an auto sync setting enabled in the background. Or maybe it was waiting for WiFi? Gaia can be funky in map area downloads. Otherwise, sync with cloud, uninstall and reinstall. Then re-download the wanted maps over WiFi. I've had to...
Jury is in. The wife has disallowed me from modifying my work truck. Already in possession of a majorly modified 2001 F450 Fire Truck, his name is Troy, and seeing the effect on the pocketbook and obsessive, never+ending tinkering, "Jake" has to go. One mention of super singles and she said ****...
You my friend just got a smoking deal! My buckstops have been great. Mine are steel but I've heard they now have a forged aluminum version that weighs way less. I'm sure they are $1700 per circle too! Do you have a build thread?
Congrats on breaking the trend buddy. Good deal for the buyer. This forum is full of scammy do nothing for sale listing from new members. Not this one!
I'll send a money order via Western Union. I just need your full bank account details. I'm also a Nigerian Prince and have billions of dollars tied up in a Diamond Mine. 6 pesos should be good to buy a Zot or about 3 Smarties.
Contrary to some of the previous messages, if you are going to load heavy with a camper the front locker is actually much more important to take the pressure of your drive line and other components. I've seen a few twisted drive shafts on heavy rigs on some pretty basic obstacles. If you're...
Bingo. Check Diesel Conversion Specialists or Destroked. There's a whole cottage industry build around these Cummins swaps. There are even 6.7 conversions that entire public fleets used to replace the 6.4. 6.4 is a known thing and there are plenty of upgraded emissions and bulletproofing you can...
Considering the hefty price you're going to presumably pay, I'd consider this. Buy it if the deal is right. Bulletproof it as much as possible. If the 6.4 blows up, budget a Cummins conversion into the purchase price. About 15-20k depending on how much work you can do rather than a shop...
Bingo. Why I put in 5.38 gears in my F450 rig. I'm at about 2200 rpm at 65 but I don't like to go faster than 70mph (plenty fast) on those MPT81s. Crawl ratio is good, but could be even better. Becomes much more important (along with LSD rear and front locker) on bigger rigs with real weight...
I feel you on the knees! I'll be 48 in August and the years of punishment are catching up big-time. Just got back from a wild packrafting loop, maybe not that smart really, in the Grand Canyon with a bum right knee. Weirdly after the initial punishment of dropping 5400 vertical the first day, by...
