I’m pretty sure ball joints can be done without removing the hub. You may need to pop the tie rod loose to be able to move the knuckle around enough but I think it is possible.

Where are all you people with jerry cans going anyway? What trails require an extra 5 gallons of gas to make it out? The only place I’ve ever been with my truck where it was possibly a thought was Utah, and that jerry can spot would have been carrying a water jug not gasoline!
I really like this. Last big cross country trip I did I used a bike rack that I made for my spare tire carrier to lash gear to. Yours is far better. ADD should crank a few of these out since it looks like a quick bolt-on solution.
