Funny I rode beemers, st1300s which I also had as a personal bikes and road Kings which for about 10 years I got a new one every year and rk was my favorite. We did 10 hour shifts and rk so much more comfortable riding for 10 hours and for experienced guys better slow speed handling and more...
Both about the same depending on where I'm riding. I live by one of the greatest motorcycle roads in the country and not bragging but I figure I have driven it more than any other person as been on it since the early 70's. The first time when I was about 12 yoa and would ride it near every day...
Hatlet tires? I am not familiar with that brand. I almost always ran oem Dunlops and depending on road surfaces anywhere from 6000 to 10,000 miles A set. Never had a flat in all the miles. It is pretty simple to pull the wheels and I have buddy who has a snap-on tire machine so easy to put new...
you can believe what you want. I got paid to ride 40 hours a week and trained yearly on the track. i would then ride on my days off. We would ride 400 miles for a good cup of coffee and ride home for dinner. I did my first iron butt when i was 18 before an iron butt was even a thing las vegas...
I don't know I put 100,000 miles in 3 years on an Electra glide and all the hardest core riders I know are Harley riders. I put a pretty high number of miles on my road glide and on my road Kings. Only bike I put more miles on in a single year was my r1100s.
I started motorcycling in the early 70’s and did my first trip to sturgis in 1975 as a 16 year old and first trip from Montana to Mexico in 1977 at 18 with another 18 year old buddy. We both were on Honda 750’s. Back in the days of no cell phones or credit cards etc. just a couple hicks with 3...
steel lines, front springs and rear spring ie ebach is what i did and big improvement and worth the money but still a pig. No way to really hot rod them tho. Guys can do a 705 kit but too much money for a little improvement. I have had two and each time while i liked the bikes for what they were...
for me if i had my druthers i would purchase made in the USA if given a choice. Many things are out of my control but when they are i would pick USA made.
Yup klr’s are way under powered which i guess with their terrible brakes and spongey front forks is a good thing :).
front fork springs and rear spring are fairly easy to remedy but unfortunately no way to really increase power. A klr with an additional 20 hp and torq would be so much more...
just jump it Dukes of hazzard style....If you can't give details that is the best advice I can give. Get your speed up and hit it straight on. I used to ride motorcycles for a living, so yes jumping is your fastest, easiest way
agree 100% I have been running lockers for many years and do a lot of winter snow wheeling and no way in heck would I run a non selectable up front. I would not want it in the rocks, or slick roads either. You can do the rubicon trail without engaging front lockers.
Warn makes some quick disconnects for winches. On our work vehicles we use Anderson connectors for jumper cables. run out thru the grill so we don't need to pop the hood each time we jump someone. We can start semi's so they should handle a winch.
