Sounds like my thoughts and situation exactly! I think that I'm not going to be very far behind you, Tim.
I wish I could see the pics, but I'm in Afghanistan -AGAIN- and these gov't computers won't show photobucket :(
I can't wait to see how it turns out - especially since your rig and mine...
Actually, I went and looked at them more today, and they are made by Fibrobec.

It's a SpaceKap
...and they even have a pic of one on a White 1995-2004 ExCab TRD Tacoma!
These are only for training use within the US. These will never be anywhere close to the battlefield. We only had 1 pretty old HMMWV Ambulance, but we never use it. Our other primary medical vehicles were mid-90's Suburbans that were modified to carry a stretcher.
I have no idea who made the shell. I'll go take a look at them again. That's also a good point about powering the A/C. All of our utility trucks have dual batteries, though.
This week at work we just got these new "Ambulances" to use when we're doing desert warfare training.
They are BRAND NEW 2010 Chevrolet Reg Cabs, diesel, 4WD, 4" suspension lift, 32" A/T tires, FULL skid plates, brush guards... But the really cool thing is the really nice Air Conditioned Ambu...
Sure - You could do it with wood, but I don't see why you'd want to... If you built the rest of the trailer out of metal, why go with a wooden lid?
To make it out of wood, and have it be as sturdy, it would end up being heavier, and I don't think it would stand up to the elements, and stress...
I love my springs as they are. Yes - I had the off-the-shelf Deaver 8's. But when they built my 9's I think they only reused 1 or 2 of the original leafs in each spring. So you might want to carefully consider which leaf you want to take out. Watching them build my springs, it looked like they...
This "tweak"... Is this something you do in-house? Or is this an official kit, or mod from ARB? Just curious.
Great advice, and same for me. I weighed my truck (without camping / wheeling gear), but drove it to Deaver loaded as if I was going on a trip. They told me that I was right between...
You've got a hell of a lot of weight on the back of your rig!
(I thought I had a lot)
I'm on my 4th redo of my rear suspension, and I'm FINALLY pretty happy with it. Based on my experience, I don't think there's ANY off-the-shelf 'cookie-cutter' leaf pack that's going to work for you.
Think...
I think it's cool. I would've wanted it to be removable too. Otherwise, everytime you came out of Wal-Mart you'd find empty soda cans, McDonald's wrappers, etc!
No... I think it's the o2 senor(s). Haven't had the time or money to mess with it yet. Doesn't seem to run any different, but the CEL coming on intermittantly is annoying...
