    2010 Lexus G470 Trail Edition

Impressive. Very nice. From the snow on the ground, it looks like the build may have been completed in one day. That's a day's work, fershure.

critical failure on Tacoma: assistance needed

When I bought my 2001 Tacoma DC a year ago, it had one fault -- only one key, and broken exactly like the op's. Ya gotta give Toyota credit for consistency, at least. There seem to be two groups -- those of us who have had our keys break like this, and those who will! I got a new key for $10...

    Anyone have a Fjällräven jacket?

I have a Fjällräven shirt that I've worn for many years. It's big enough for me (I'm 6'6", almost 200 cm) and it's held up well to a lot of wear. 100% cotton, and it's faded a bit, kinda threadbare at the cuffs, but the buttons have stayed on through countless washings and it really doesn't...

    Overland Journal Launches New Website

I like it. Good organization, useful content, fantastic photography. Congratulations on the update and relaunch. Super job. (I liked the old one a lot, too!)

    Frame saver?

I have steel frames that are over 90 years old, and doing just fine with no frame saver. I have a 35+ year old Reynolds 531 DB frame on a commuter that has a number of scratches and scrapes, but no rust. I have a 3 year old Waterford fast road frame that I **did** use Weigel's Frame Saver on...

RED LED cockpit lighting for night time

I like it! Clean installation, solid technical basis for the mod, and useful function. Good job. Where did you put the switch? Don

    OME or Bilstein Shocks?

We all get to buy new shocks for vehicles so rarely that almost all of our data is drawn from such a small set that biases are hard to avoid... I know mine is. So, FWIW and YMMV, I have factory Bilstein shocks on my 2001 Tacoma DC 4x4 TRD, and I installed a Bilstein shock + spring kit once upon...

    A Bavarian Cherokee…

Welcome to ExPo! Very nice looking XJ. I've driven my Cherokee all over the US, and would have loved to have done the same in Europe. Feel free to send us more photos anytime :coffeedrink: Don 2008 Lexus RX350 2001 Tacoma DC 4x4 TRD 1988 Cherokee XJ, ARB front, Kaymar back, OME under, Thule...

    Identify these wheels?

FWIW, this link, http://blogs.insideline.com/straightline/2009/12/baja-1000-toyota-4runner-stops-by-la-auto-show-before-bath.html, describes the wheels as follows: Aftermarket bits include 365-by-12.50-by-17 General Grabber tires mounted on 17-by-8-inch Fuel forged alloy wheels. Bilstein racing...

FS - Cargo Case Xport - Hard Case to carry your bike - $100

I'm getting a new randonneur bicycle built at Cycles Alex Singer in Paris that should be ready this spring, and the bike will need to come back to the US after some time in France. It's a honking big bike, though -- 69 cm frame -- 'cause I'm a really tall guy. Could you post the inside...

Circuit City online is now part of the same family as Tiger Direct. I've used products from the tigerdirect.com site many times, and I've always been satisfied.

Eighty Cent Motorcycle Cover on EBay

Some sellers will charge almost nothing for the item and hit the buyer for a higher-than-normal shipping charge as a way of avoiding eBay seller fees. Quite common on cheap electronic items.

Stock Gas Tank to Water Tank?

Maybe a dumb question, and I really ought to double-check my 1988 XJ out back to be sure, but isn't the fuel tank in a Cherokee of this period made from fluorinated low density polyethylene, not steel? As a chemist, I could imagine the idea of converting a LDPE tank from gasoline to water to...

Wiring for Lights on Roof Rack

I had a chance to check out a Porsche Cayenne S Transsyberia at the 2007 IAA (Frankfurt Auto Show), and took some shots of the mounting and the wiring for the light bar. The wiring, while it took holes drilled in the roof, looked like a secure mount and was very neat. No good shots of the...

    Dog Barriers

For my Lexus 2008 RX350 I wanted a dog barrier with minimal impact -- one that could be attached/removed with no trace of installation, and one that maximized the cargo space in the back end. I found one I'm very happy with. I found what I was looking for in the Montblanc K9E Headrest Mounted...

Thoughts on a 01-04 Tacoma DC

I bought a 2001 TRD DC with 66k mi on the odo in February of this year, for $15k from a private party. We were both happy with the deal, and ten months later I'm even happier. I sold our family's 1981 Pickup (2WD, alas) this summer, so I figure I know a little bit about these vehicles...

    So...I pulled the trigger.

I've had a Kaymar rear bumper on my 1988 XJ Cherokee for about ten years. I love it. The pivot and latch are simple and durable. The receiver hitch is inconspicuous and strong. And I just like checkerplate safety tread. I give them high marks, and would love to have one for my Tacoma.

    Clever blade-type in-line fuse holder

Well, to tell you the truth, I haven't been to Autozone or Checker lately. With vehicles like my 2008 Lexus RX and 2001 Tacoma DC, parts runs are a thing of the past (smile). The TR hasn't taken to the roads in years (although may again before it's upcoming 50th), but it's a little beyond the...

    Clever blade-type in-line fuse holder

Looking through the end-November 2009 mailer from Moss Motors for restoration stuff for my 1962 Triumph TR3B (TSF202L), I noticed this neat inline fuse holder that takes blade type plug in fuses. Probably available elsewhere, but this is the first I've seen this item...
