I want to know how much power your fridge consumes per hour on average while camping. Either Amp/hours or watt/hours.
Please share the cabinet size, average power consumption during use, temperatures you set the fridge at, ambient temperatures, any other info that you think would be useful...
Sure, I get that. But an average of .5 amps an hour is still way better than what I average.
Should I not be impressed? Are other people seeing similar numbers?
I get close to 4 amps an hour on average during my travels. That's in the tropics, with a big 66L unit and us opening the cabinet...
I feel like I must be reading this wrong. Your fridge only draws 31.25 amps over 72 hours? So less than .5 amps an hour during normal camping use? That's impressive if it's correct.
I have a SnoMaster 66l fridge/freezer. I have been living full time out of my truck for the past year while traveling through Mexico and Central America, so lots of poor roads and the fridge is still doing well. Quite happy with it and they are easy to get in the USA now.
I had a similar search with different priorities. I wanted something that was smaller and lighter than your average slide in and was willing to give up some of the comforts so that it would fit down jungle roads, not vibrate apart on the washboard, and wanted to fit my surfboards inside without...
I can't believe I haven't seen this thread before. It's just what I have been looking for. Video Inspiration!
My wife and I are creating a video series about our travels. We are currently driving from California to Panama and... back?
This is our most recent video.
We drove down the Baja...
Wow. I haven't checked your thread in a while. You already passed us and are about to turn around and pass us again!
Last time I looked I think you were in Baja and we were in Nicaragua. Now you are in Panama and we've barely made it to Costa Rica. haha
All the way back to USA in a month? Be...
Beautiful pics.
When we get back into the USA we plan to drive a lot of this area. Visiting family in Mammoth Lakes then driving to my home town of Ojai.
You have me feeling a little home sick :)
Really well done!
I just rewatched it.
So professional. I am trying to learn to improve my own videos.
I appreciate the way your entire production comes together to create moods. All of your shots are smooth and appear to be thought out and then the pace of your editing, music, and speaking...
That's a good idea. ARB gives you a pretty high quality stuff sack and I have a spot where I keep it so it won't cause me any trouble, but thats a good idea I will keep in mined for the future.
it is the 2500x2500. Overall, I like the awning. Setup/breakdown is easy and quick and it is still water proof after 1 year of use as long as you don't let the water pool on top. With guy lines it holds up to decent winds. Im guessing we've had it out in 25knot winds, maybe more.
Down sides...
Thanks Andosan, and welcome to the forum.
I've been running into quite a few issues trying to buy one, but am still intending to get a 1hz powered land cruiser. I might just end up waiting till my current trip is over and pursuing it after I am back home.
Cool, glad it was helpful.
I was fortunate to grow up doing little Baja trips with my parents, camping, fishing, and looking for surf. So, I got my first taste and a bit of confidence that way.
Don't feel like you need to rush to Argentina when you have the perfect overland surfer's...
great write up and pictures. Such beautiful cars.
We met a couple on the road that made it to la Paz with a van that was rated for too much weight and ended up driving back to California (where they are from) and had the registration changed on the vehicle so that it is now rated at less than a...
We've been in Costa Rica for about a week. The crossing from Nicaragua was pretty easy and smooth for us. We ended up being at the border at the same time as 3 other overlanders in vans and 2 motorcyclists. It was cool to meet new people, but I think it added abut an hour to the process since it...
