Toyota T100 "The Blue Beauty" From bought to built in a month (hopefully)

Thanks sddiver5. I took a 1 day dive class in Maui that helped me out. I went from basically being uncomfortable diving at all to staying down for about 1.5 min and shooting fish at 35-40ft. It was a big improvement for me. I would totally recommend a class for anyone else that wants to get into...

Toyota T100 "The Blue Beauty" From bought to built in a month (hopefully)

thanks aaronk. I do have locks on both boxes. I figure its one more thing to slow someone down. Here is the camper in its finished state. It started off as a hi-rise campershell that i purchased for $90. I cut the roof off and extended it 2 feet taller and about 3 feet over the cab (at the...

    Help, trouble shooting solar/battery system

Wow. Thanks again guys. blown away by all the truly helpful input. I just did this as a way of testing to see how long i could run the fridge with out the panels hooked up. Help, trouble shooting solar/battery system

I did not get the remote temp sensor, but I did get the meter and set the parameters to better fit the battery and got a much better result. The battery reached the voltages specified by Vmax before switching to float and I unplugged the panels at 3:30pm today and turned on my fridge/freezer. It...

    Help, trouble shooting solar/battery system

Ok, I didn't want to wait for shipping and processing, so I drove the 3 hours to Renogy office yesterday. After an in person conversation with another tech guy who gave me yet another explanation and conclusion to my issue I got him to test my charge controller. Turns out it was working how it...

    Help, trouble shooting solar/battery system

well, I plugged the battery into an ac charger over night. I got numbers that look more like what Vmax said I should be seeing with a full charge. 13.07V 4 hours after disconnecting the charger. That seams like a significant difference compared to the 12.8V I was seeing 4 hours after...

    Help, trouble shooting solar/battery system

I am continuing to look for issues with my existing set up, but as the battery seams to be in working order, I am thinking more and more that the issue is the charge controller. So, any suggestions for a charge controller? I will hopefully still be using my 300W solar array consisting of 3x...

    Help, trouble shooting solar/battery system

I tried putting the battery under load and taking some readings. I used a 4.99 amp load measured with a multi-meter at the load, 10ft from the battery, connected with 10awg wire. Before applying the load the battery voltage was at 12.29V. After 45 minutes, with the load connected I measured...

    Help, trouble shooting solar/battery system

Thanks a lot for the help guys. I have been coming to the same conclusions as you guys based on my reading, but my inexperience with these systems and electricity in general keep me from being confident in my interpretation of what i'm reading. For example when I read that the charge controller...

    Help, trouble shooting solar/battery system

Here is the data i collected today (battery voltages were taken with multi-meter at battery terminals): 10:20am charge controller gave me a "full battery" indication and switched to float charge. Battery voltage=14.16v I then unplugged the solar panels and took the following readings 10:50am...

    Help, trouble shooting solar/battery system

I just checked my alternator and got a reading of 14.17 volts. I'm pretty confident it is stock. It has the Toyota 12v sticker on it. I checked the battery manufacturer's website ( http://www.vmaxtanks.com/SLR155-AGM-Solar-Battery-_p_66.html ) and it lists "Vehicle Alternator: 14V-15V" as a...
