I was lucky to hear about it as it is not on any of the maps I have. Had to actually search for it on my TOPO program to find it. Beautiful area and only 20 min from the house.

Another option would be to build a shelf to go over the dog crates. You should then have room behind and over the crates for gear. You could make the shelf removable with folding legs for storage. The tied down shelf could also act to keep the dog crates in place should something happen.

.38 is a good round, heck, Law Enforcement used it for many years and only changed for higher capacity firearms when they started getting out gunned. Your only problem will be finding rounds right now. The .40 is the only round you can still find fairly regular.

A few years back I did a 2 nighter in the canyon and it was amazing. Did the Bright Angel to Indian Springs and set up camp. Spent the afternoon/evening on Plateu Point (great place to watch the sunset). Next morning left the camp set up and headed to the river via Bright Angel and over to and...

The falls are still frozen here in Southern NM. Bluff Springs in the Sacramento Mountains.

Snow is dying off, but we still managed to find a little bit. Even the waterfall was still frozen.
