GSMNP has always been a favorite of mine, the west has it's wide open spaces, but the east has the Smokies and all the beauty they contain. Nice report, it brings back memories of several trips there. Thanks.

I have an older Rock 22, It's a great tent and still going strong.

The Rio Grande, Big Bend NP is a great float trip, a few class I, lite Class II. We did a 4 day trip, the area and river is amazing. A must do if you get the chance.

I was there from 84-87, PI was an interesting place. Made it down to Subic a few times, shopping at the NEX mainly and out to Gande Island for some time away.

Rupe, May want to check with your local Fab guy, if you have one. Talk over what you want and need, come up with a design and you can prob have it built better and for less and anything you can get on line. Thats what I did, and am very pleased with the turn out. Just an Idea.

Nice Job, don't think the wife would let me permantly mount storage in our TJ, but if she did, something simular to yours would be in order.

Inovative idea, will your canoe still fit on the rack if you put another carrier on the opposite side? Are you able to access the rear with the canoe mounted? Just a couple of thoughts.

I can't tell you the affects of a duely and chains, but there areas that require chains on all vehicles 4x4 or not. I would say, plan ahead and get a set. Better to have them and not need them then travel 1000 miles and then need them and not have them. The CA mountains come to mind after a good...

I haven't personally tried them, but a couple of my co-workers say they work great.

Old Town kayaks are a good choice, they are well built and reasonably priced. I work around and with them each day and compared to some of the other major manufactures, they are on the upper end. Looking at picking up a couple of loons myself one day. Currently have a couple of mainstream...

Perk guy here, nothing fancy, just good ole coffee flavored coffee. grew up with it, before drip, Starbucks and the like. I do the drip thing at home, but good ole perk in camp is just darn good.
