I thought the price was a little high as well but everything these days gives me sticker shock. In my mind it would have been more reasonable at around $24,950 base price so it could be optioned for around the $30k mark. The market will dictate though.
Your spot on with the comparisons. The other bit I'd point out is that a blunt impact or pressure to the skin of a sandwich panel could compromise the bond between the skin and foam. Repairable but if gone unnoticed or neglected could also lead to delamination, buckling and failure.

30 years ago I used to build and repair patterns for foundry sand casting. There was a lot of Bondo work involved. All those swept and sanded fillets. Woof! Getting them right in the corners is tricky business.
No experience with Timbren axles but any cantilevered beam will deflect when force is applied. If the unit is undersized for a given load, It would deflect out of alignment when loaded.

It's possible that you have a different model of door depending how old your shell is. I'm not sure when they switched to the bonded resin transfer molded door parts. Maybe when they changed the overall body shape.
