    New Carbon Fiber EarthRoamer

Well, from this article on Expedition Portal, it's almost 2,000 pounds less. Pretty good really. The new EarthRoamer LTi was on display, and is without a doubt the best EarthRoamer yet, with a full carbon body and nearly 2,000 pounds less weight. https://expeditionportal.com/sema-overland-day-2/

    2020 EarthCruiser?

I like the ladder going up beside the driver door. Is that a new feature?

    2020 EarthCruiser?

Compared to the competition for a complete vehicle, that price sounds about right to me. Plus you don't have to spend the next 5 years building it yourself. At my age, I can't buy those years back, so the price seems OK considering what it does and where it can go.

    New Carbon Fiber EarthRoamer

My legs don't have the same torque they used to have, but my weight is still the same. Our old mtn bikes were Trek 8000, aluminum frames with XT parts, and those bikes are still lighter than the new ones with full suspension shocks, etc. In some ways, I would rather ride the old ones unless on...

    New Carbon Fiber EarthRoamer

Yikes, $650 to $700K. Doesn't say how much lighter either that I could find. If it's like my carbon bikes, you spend $1,000 for each pound you save, so for $100,000 increase, you might save 100 pounds. Surely the batteries would save a couple hundred pounds going to lithium.

XPCamper goes out of business, files for bankruptcy?

From the website: XPCamper. Now a Be Change brand. XPCamper ceased operations on June 1, 2019. The assets of the business were purchased in a foreclosure auction by Be Change LLC, and we intend to continue building the world’s finest expedition truck camper from our 17,000 square foot facility...

    Hitch mounted bike racks

We use one of these for our road bikes and they have a license plate bracket as well as LED turn/brake lights also. I have been pulled over a couple of times for having the bike rack block the plates on other rigs, so this solutions solves those issues. Also, it keeps the bikes out of the...

    UJOR Build Thread

I wish Sportsmobile had done something like that little Born Free unit instead of the classic. Build it really beefy to hold up off road and sell it for $200K. Oh well, keep wishing.

One more. Do you think the new 7.3 gas engine in the 2020 E450 will cause any issues on your 4x4 conversion?

    2020 EarthCruiser?

Just my guess, but even the smaller EarthRoamer likely needs the extra torque of the diesel. Though after I say that, I think of the 36' Winnebagos that are running the V10s. Not too fast, but they roll down the road at 70+ MPH. Haven't seen the specs on the new 7.3 gas engine, but it might be...

    2020 EarthCruiser?

Thanks for the information. I hope to visit them later this summer in OR. Anxious to see the final product. Seems like a perfect size vehicle for what the wife and I need.

Have you ever done one of the smaller Class A RVs like a Forest River FR3 or a Thor A.C.E? Just curious.

    SOLD••> 2017 EarthCruiser FX $175K - Super Clean, 15K miles, like new!

I think they told me the FX required an oversized container due to the taller configuration. They also have to air down the EXP a little to squeeze it in to a regular container.

Looks like Fuso is throwing in the towel- at least on the FE

The home page has been updated for the new 2020 version of the EarthCruiser. Looks pretty interesting. V8, Allison transmission, heavy duty locking axles, disc brakes, etc. EarthCruiser Home Page

EXD 350 - EarthCruiser on flat bed

I would still like to see something like this on a 4x4 E350 or E450 cutaway chassis with a 12' or even 14' camper box. Especially if you could incorporate swivel front seats into the interior space.

    Rugged Off-Road Hitch Rack

We have a Let's Go Aero cargo box that we run on the rear of our van or SUV. It holds two road bikes with the front wheels off and would likely hold two mountain bikes if you removed the handlebars also. Keeps them looking like new and has room for the front wheels, helmets, pump, etc. GearSpace 34
