An All-Aluminum 1.9L NA VW Diesel?

The lowest one is a MTU large yacht engine. 20+ were little naturally aspirated Yanmar's, JD's etc.etc. 15-22 isn't abnormal at all. My twin sequential turbo Volvos are really low as well. But they have heated intake screens and block heaters. Sailboat engines can have really high...

    Offroad Capable Mainstream Trailer???

Obviously for mild use, but I wonder if these are any good: http://www.forestriverinc.com/travel-trailers/no-boundaries More reasonably priced as well. https://www.couchsrvnation.com/forest-river/travel-trailer/no-boundaries-nobo/nb16.8

    JDay's 2018 F250 Powerstroke Build

Go down until you get a good bulge with your tire parked on top a 4x4 (chunk of wood, not a chevy). Something you need to do with most MT's to break them in. Cooper Stt's increase in performance a ton after some time air'd down makes them more flexible. They won't flex well when new and at...

    HELP! Power wagon or Cummins?

That's a choice everyone has to make on their own. In slippery dirt road conditions with cold mud and ice, weight is a substantial hindrance. But in the dry, there's little difference. Some of us sight see in the fall and winter as well, not just summertime desert conditions. The gap...

    HELP! Power wagon or Cummins?

If the other vehicle you're interested in is an LC!?!, then you have zero need for the diesel. I'd rather avoid the headaches. Screw fuel economy. Fuel is water cheap. Get the Powerwagon. Also consider building up a new Ford 6.2L. If you go diesel, go 3500. Gas, go 2500. The diesel...

The #1 warranty issue in Consumer reports is already the "infotainment systems".

New Jeep Pick Up to be unveiled...The Gladiator

Ratings are nonsense to anyone but the DOT guy that pulls you over. My F250 has 3100# payload. My 350, only 2000-ish#. I can't see any way that 3200# in an F150 isn't going to ride and feel terrible. Depends on the weight of the truck, as well as how it's equipped. It would be a...

New Jeep Pick Up to be unveiled...The Gladiator

I'm only afraid that the good axles will only be available in a $60k Rubi version. Like the wrangler.

New Jeep Pick Up to be unveiled...The Gladiator

So configure a truck for less than $60,000, if the price upsets you. You don't need a big screen dash, worthless fake leather, tail gate step, diesel engine in a little truck, OnStar eye in the sky, or whatever other gimmick is out there. 4wd, CC, rear locker, done. $40,000. "What, the...

    New beam axle options?

The Bronco and Ranger were/are being tested and tuned in Oz. So there's some hope that their love of solid axles over there, might help. Can't compete with the Wrangler without solid axles. And the jeep is vulnerable, only the Rubicon comes with the good axles. Put 44/60 hybrids under all...

    New beam axle options?

It is based on the Ranger. Rolls out of the same factory property (unknown if same building or not). No reason why it still can't be a solid axle. I expect the seats, fuel tank, mirrors, and dash like stuff to carry over. Making a solid axle and IFS truck in the same factory is no harder...

    New beam axle options?

Nope. All gone. Don't need Dana60's to go to starbucks. Based on the fast food crap that the Wrangler has been eating lately, it'll be as wide as a Super Duty in a few more model years. Maybe there's still hope: https://www.autoblog.com/2017/01/25/2020-ford-bronco-dana-solid-axles/

    2014 Ram 1500 1/2 Ton Airbag Question(s)

I'd give bags inside a coil a fair chance before trying other options. Sumo Springs Rebel, have made Timbren pretty much obsolete. I'm going that route instead of airbags this time. The lighter blue compound, not black. I'd skip the gauge and compressor, air bags are pretty much set and...

Rear Suspension Upgrade for a Ford F-150 with tons of gear...Should I invest in 2.5" shocks?

Comp adjustments are very minor, just a very fine tune. If you need to dial the rears in alot. Go with a firmly damped King 3.0 triple bypass. Open up the bypass to lighten them up. It's not rocket science to adjust the valve shims either. Any real damping adjustments require...

Capri Retreat Initial Review Part 1

It'll be fine if the off switch is good. If not, grab a wrench and disconnect it. Batteries aren't rubber cased anymore. I have 4 g31's sitting on a concrete floor. They should be toast by now, but they're fine. Just keep them clean and full. Dirt on top of the battery will drain it.

Locker on the front, or a winch?

Sure. You might want to shovel a bit more. Although I never did that up a steep hill. I use it to go a couple feet forward on extremely slick ground. I never had to use as much force as it takes to lift the Super Duty. And I never had much trouble with that. Just be careful going down.

What are some of the most reliable old vehicles?

YJ. Once you upgrade the axles, driveshafts, and SYE. Same for XJ's. Simple ride with nothing to break one you get rid of the pathetic axles. Maybe a manual trans, manual xfer case, manual hub, 2001 Super Duty. Just a bigger version of the above. v10 and 7.3 of course. Gen1 Dodge...
