Dual awning pictures
I got the second awning installed today and I have to say that the combined F-35s provide a lot of shade. It is nice to have the body mounts for the legs so that the rig can be repositioned with everything deployed. I have also provided a couple of interior tent shots to...
Interior LED upgrade
The interior incandescent lamps have always worried me with their amperage draw and ability to attract bugs into the cab if left on by leaving the door open. Through one of our suppliers I found a perfect fit LED replacement. Net result is brighter light and lower draw...
That is the very old Comanche based on the what I think was called the J-10. Late 70's early 80's. My Comanche is part of the XJ/MY platform series which I think started mid 80's. I don't like the loss of storage fore & aft of the wheel wheels with the 4 wheel camper.
Hey Matt! Yeah, the Flippac site is very weak on information. We hope to solve the knowledge base problem soon with a Flippac section to our site.
Yes there is a shortbed version for the taco. What year is yours?
The Currie rocks! No pun intended. After installation we realized a slight interference problem with the springs so the attachment points are moving tomorrow.
After looking at the picture that I posted we came to the conclusion that all of the cutting that has happened to the body over the...
How ya doing buddy? Are we going to see you at OV Expo? It's just up the road afterall....
I think a Flippac would suit your Taco well...I'm just saying....
Flippac designed for the Ford Ranger fits with a modification to the front lip of the bed: 2"x2"x1/8" aluminum angle rivited to inside of front bed lip on MJ to provide better seal. This is the case for my standard bed MJ which is 1" longer than the Ranger bed.
Added Fiamma F-35 1.8 to Flippac today. It is a very nice addition with the added bonus of color matching the MJ & Flippac. The foot-to-body mounts are very solid. There is also a provision for guy lines if it gets really gusty. This model is 5'10" wide and projects 6'. We have two other models...
Installation of the Currie Anti-rock is complete. The handling difference is quite noticeable over the stock arrangement that had drop down brackets. It'll be nice to no longer need to disconnect for the trails. After the rig gets it's interior build out and is at loaded weight, we'll evaluate...
I have yet to expose the Flippac to high winds at this point, however, I can say that my roof top tent experiences at the same height on the previous shell were good. The tent roof height of the Flippac is lower than an RTT and at a lesser angle to the wind so I would assume that wind...
Thanks Mike. It's supposed to get to 77 degrees today and I have a bit of towing on the agenda. If Simon gets the antirock in by this afternoon, I'll give her a go up Archibald again and see what happens.
Thanks for the comments. Haggis, I am the original owner and have kept her up since day one.
The F-35 awnings are planned for the sides. An awning would be cool for the rear but I have not found a suitable hardcase awning off the shelf just yet. I do not like the soft case units and I do not...
Over the weekend we added a new Flippac shell to the MJ. I have posted pics and info here as I thought it would be more appropriate. http://expeditionportal.com/forum/showthread.php?p=370891#post370891
To further continue the upgrade thread from the Jeep section, I thought it appropriate to move this aspect of it here.
AT has recently become a Flippac dealer and this addition to the AT MJ represents the beginning of a new series of products to go along with Flippac installations using new...
