The tstat is just an on-of switch. If it's calling for heat it's on. you can replace the tstat with an on off toggle or alligator clips and see if it runs to be sure.

If the engine has been running you can feel the coolant level in the towel bar . Have the engine OFF before you open the system and be super careful that you are not releasing 80C coolant at pressure! I think Vermonster got new parabolics.

We did ship it with the extra parabolic spring on the back, have you broken one? I would not open the radiators with the truck running. When it is hot you can feel the level of coolant in the bathroom radiator. Crack the filler cap on top and see if there is pressure.

Generally you want your solar going to the house batteries. Any well made vehicle should be able to go a weeks without starting without issue as long as all your house loads are on the house battery. In an failed start you can always jump from the house battery.
