What 32-33" Tires are you running on your JKU?

Installed yesterday, very excited to try them out Compared to a brand new oem BFG mud terrain, they're about 3/4" taller. Cooper says they're 32.8"

jk 4dr Rhino Backbone Roof Rack

The feet in my kit are some kind of plastic/composite. The base plates the feet mount to are a cast metal (aluminum I think). They include adhesive foam to seal around every hole you drill, so far in 3 months no evidence of any leaks. The only part that's shown any wear is the finish on some...

jk 4dr Rhino Backbone Roof Rack

This guy put one on a 3-bar backbone, but never replied when I asked him about it... you could try PM'ing him http://www.expeditionportal.com/forum/threads/143592-Autohome-AirTop-RTT-on-a-Jeep-Wrangler-Unlimited And here's another thread which much of the same discussed...

jk 4dr Rhino Backbone Roof Rack

I have a 120lb CVT Mt Bachelor RTT on my rhino rack backbone system. I bought the 2 bar, heavy-duty (square) bar system. I have at least 2000 miles and now 2 good days of offroading on the system with the RTT, and so far so good. One drawback was wind noise with an empty rack, mine whistled...

What 32-33" Tires are you running on your JKU?

Thanks to everyone who chimed in on this thread! Just pulled the trigger on a set of 5 LT255/80/R17 E Cooper S/T Maxx, will post up after they're installed. An FYI for anyone else out there who's looking, discount tire direct has them for $197/tire, free shipping. My local tire place...

    Help me to NOT fail

Good list, and I second having a small kit to patch things up if needed. Also, trash bags.

ARB Fridge - What size for wife and I?

I have a 45 qt whynter and it's perfect for the 2 of us for 3-5 days. It's also massive on the outside, I'm definitely glad I didn't go any bigger. A group 31 deep cycle, a 40W solar panel and a small charge controller easily keep up with it in the summer for a few days (I keep it at 37-42F).

    RTT Regrets

Depends on where you'll be using it... does it rain often where you travel? If yes, skip the open roof. If no, go for it! When they first came out with that option I seriously thought about selling my current RTT and buying one with the sky roof, but then I remembered, it rains almost every...

Question for rooftop tent owners regarding logistics.

I've had my RTT on 2 jeeps. On both jeeps, I mounted the tent to the crossbars, then removed the tent & crossbars combo from the jeep anytime I needed to pull the tent. That gets rid of most of the difficulty of removal/reinstallation. On my XJ I picked up some used Thule bars off craigslist...

Epic 50 state "drive to the highest point" Roadtrip in a JKUR

I don't want to toot the horn of the advertisers since it's a sponsored tour, but the guys & girls over at tfl car are taking a Jeep Rubicon & a Jeep camper trailer around the country and trying to drive to the highest drive-able spot in each state. They're geo-caching belt buckles for people...

    Recommend Roof Rack

I also went with the Rhino Rack backbone despite the drilling. I love the look and function of the Gobi but the rhino rack was a little smaller & cheaper. I'm sure the Gobi is more useful overall but the Rhino Rack makes it pretty darn easy to pull the tent off when I don't need it...

JK Tailgate Tables - The lowdown

Built my own today! Thanks for all the inspiration in this thread. Made a 12" x 28" out of 1/2" Beech plywood. Cost was under $100. End result is 2" thick folded up. It's pretty rough and unfinished still, I'll probably take it apart and poly it. I didn't want to drill any holes so I made a...

What 32-33" Tires are you running on your JKU?

Thanks for the continuing input everyone! I never had any issues with the mud terrains, from deep snow to regular old rain and ice coated roads. That said, you don't know how bad you have it until you have something better to compare it to. The duratracs are a possibility, they're fairly...

What 32-33" Tires are you running on your JKU?

Takeoffs: $1300 for 5 with 8k miles, $1700 for 5 new, and $2000 for 5 new, on CL around my neck of the woods. Where are you guys finding these screaming deals on take-offs? I'm leaning hard towards the ST MAXX in LT255/80/R17 E. Tall, skinny, good load rating.

What 32-33" Tires are you running on your JKU?

If I go coopers, I like the ST Maxx in LT255/80R17E which according to cooper's website is 32.8" tall. NTB has them for $177 a piece. That's the size Jim wrote about here http://expeditionportal.com/field-tested-cooper-st-maxx/ I like that idea. Best of all, I can keep the brand new spare I...

What 32-33" Tires are you running on your JKU?

I know, another tire thread. Looking for opinions for replacement tires on my JKUR. Keeping the stock 17" wheels & no lift. I have 37k miles on my original BFG Mud Terrains, and will re-buy those unless someone has a good reason I should look into something else: Cooper AT/3s? A/T/W...
