25K miles on KO2 before I gave up

Your story is like many others I have heard and lead to me wanting this tire. Sometimes, no matter what, it just does not work out. With all that being said, the tires still look good and I am sure that they are a excellent tire, just not for my Wrangler.

    HUMAN FECES

Here in the East, it's very easy to dig a 6-8 inch cat hole and do you business. I'm not in the habit of hauling out my paperwork, so I make sure I use 1/2 ply paper (you can see thought it!) and make sure everything is buried and tamped down. I don't get too excited when I see doo-doo laying...

25K miles on KO2 before I gave up

A few years ago I managed a heck of a deal on a set of 5 285/75/R17 KO2 Take offs from a new Wrangler. I originally had KMs on the Jeep and they were very good tires. I put 45K miles on them and they wore very well. 5K mile 5 tire rotation. Just a little gravel wear from FS trails. But I...

    Winches and circuit breakers/fuses/disconnects

This does not answer your question directly, but here is what I have installed between my battery and my winch: https://www.westmarine.com/buy/blue-sea-systems--m-series-mini-dual-circuit-battery-switch-red--14122162?recordNum=2 I have it 6 inches off the Positive terminal of the battery. The...

    Review of the Icom IC-V86

I'd be inclined to guess he got a little duct work in there. I don't hit it too often, but when I do, it's pretty amazing! Once, in the early 90s when I was about 13, I was working on a 1/4 wave antenna and had it on my bed. My radio was a HTX-202 at 5 watts and wound up in a 30 minute...

Coleman 533 Disassembly, Clean, & Reassembly video

Hey ExPo'ers! I've had this little Coleman 533 for about 15 years and give it a cleaning about once a year. I put together a video yesterday of how I do that and thought that y'all would be interested in it. Like, subscribe, blah blah! Thanks.

    Sat phones?

Great post and I'm going to really add to your last point which is, in my observation, grossly overlooked. I've been using Spot since 2010 when they were only making the tracking version that was one way only. With the spot-x, wife and I can text each other and I really enjoy that. But the...

Which type of coordinates do you use?

Yeah, I've been thinking of W3W all weekend and I cannot find a practical use for it outside of "you need to go here" and basically must need a smart phone. I like the concept for SAR, but if you don't have it pre-loaded on the lost persons phone, then you are kind of SOL. And most modern GPS...

    Sat phones?

Just something to consider, but Garmin inReach, any of them, use the Iridium satellite service. With that being said, I currently use Spot X, which uses Globalstar, and have only had one or two problems. I have been thinking of switching to a Garmin unit as I like some of the functionality that...

Which type of coordinates do you use?

Looks like W3W is really only good on a electronic device? Since each 3words is for a 3 meter grid, placing this on a map would be very difficult for anything other than a very large scale map. So for a command center type of opperation, you would need to have a rather large screen mounted...

Coleman Addiction.....for pesants. ha ha ha!

I have been viewing BaT for a number of years and now find myself looking less and less. The prices some of that stuff pulls is heart breaking to those of who are not sleeping on a pile of money. Porsche 914s and 944s are what I was watching and waiting to pounce on (and Caymans too), but no...

M116A3 - First Trailer for Overland Travels!

See, this is how internet fights start, lol. I personally really like the pintle & Lunette. It makes hooking up really easy. With a ball hitch, there is just too much close alignment needed and then you have to fight with trying make it match and then lock down. With the pintle, you just get...

How much extra fuel do you take?

Here in the East, we don't have a shortage of gas stations. But whenever I go out on the weekends, I hit one last gas station a few miles before the entrance just to make sure I have a full tank. A few years ago, I went out west and made sure I never got below 1/4 tank and tried to stay no lower...

    OBA for camping/beach and trails

Here is a little review video I made for the Viair 300P. I air up from 20 to 35 psi for all 4 tires in the video and out on the trail. I've never had it shut off. I run 33ish inch tires. So very similar to what you are asking about.
