Thanks dude! It's been way more fun to work on this than I would have imagined a few years ago when I bought it. Easiest vehicle I have worked on too.
The wheels were a total accident to find. Back in May of 2020, a dude in Asheville, NC, which is not quite two hours from here posted these as...
Here is a little write up on my 2018 JKU Shara in Gobi. I ordered the Jeep in August of 2017 and have done all mods and work myself with the exception of mounting and balancing the tires. This is hands down the best vehicle I have ever owned and I have owned more than I probably should have. It...
I'm not in the market for a truck, but if I were, the Frontier just rocketed to the top of the list. It actually looks like the interior and exterior design team worked in tandem. That is a good lucking truck!
I've done that too down around Tellico Ranger District. The only thing that bothers me about that is if the tree has any potential energy and springs loose while breaking free with the winch. This is why now I try to get at least one cut into it. Plus...using a chainsaw fees bad@$$ haha.
@4x4tripping I have cut 24 inch trees with my dewalt 20v and 12 inch bar. It takes a while but it beats a bow saw or axe. You just have to move around the cut more.
But 10 inch dead fall for firewood? About 30 seconds each piece with a sharp blade. And like I said, compared to a gas saw...
Sounds like a few flipped houses I have been told about. I never buy flipped stuff. Way too many shady people out there that use a hammer as a screwdriver.
Edit: looks like I used some bad language. My bad!
Which one do you have? I did not buy this one because of the video. I kind of thought of that as a bonus. I was specifically looking for range ID.
Wife story too: Wife knew I had been eyeballing a thermal for a few years and so when I finally said I was ready, she just kind of rolled her eyes...
Guys and gals,
Last year I purchased a Pulsar Axiom 4x Thermal Imagery device as a way to maintain some property at night and to also look for critters while camping. It a really neat device and it's super small.
Here is a short video I was making as a demo for a buddy of mine. I'm just in the...
I do agree with this 100%. But! I tend to go out with one or two people/ vehicles so I could set max squelch and not run into a problem. It is also, in the end, a band aid fix for the problem. I would track down the issue for sure, but if you get RFI on the trail and you are just using radios at...
I want to expound on what something that Catastrofe mentioned and 1Louder has described. Now, bare in mind, I am talking in very general terms so this is not 100% across the board. However, I've been doing this professionally since 2004 and have seen how much of this has progressed.
A lot of...
Not sure of the Stellar brand, but what I have found with NF and the other top tier brands is that they seem to offer two quality type: 1) Big box retail, like dicks or academy. These tend to be name brand only and very below the stuff you get in 2) an actual outfitter. And the actual outfitter...
OMG, thanks for the education. Sounds like some folks were heard in the Daniel Boone NF a few years back at the S Tree camp ground. Some time after midnight, had a bunch of vehicles going thought that were just loud as hell and the hoots and hollers they were yelling were even louder.
I would not call this the biggest and baddest vehicle, but this old GMC sure found themselves in a bad way in the Cherokee National Forest a few weeks ago. I would surmise that the owner was enjoying the fresh snow the day before and "let 'er rip" though the turn and hit the solid patch of ice...
Seen a few comments about military surplus. I was wanting a nice wind and waterproof shell. Big name brand was well north of $300. I used to wear Gortex in the Marines so I went and found what I needed at a local MilSurp shop for $50. Sure it's camo, but in East Tennessee, everyone wears camo...
Can you imagine how blurry those images would be with the vehicle bouncing around? Haha
