The DeWalt 20V is very small. When I'm not using it, I remove the bar and chain and store the whole thing along with the oil and batteries in a 20 size rubber maid tote. Takes up almost no room and it sure as heck beats using an axe to clear a trail, which I have done too many times...

I would not go any larger than 4 inch. It's not like the Wranglers have that good of visibility though the A pillars.

I personally don't recommend an OBA setup. As others have said, you either have to run really long and heavy gauge cables or contend with heat. And the engine bay on a Wrangler gets mighty hot. To me, and this is only my opinion, I like being able to grab the bag and taking it to a different...

I've thought about it before as well. Sort of like those gigantic grill guards you see on F250 and such. I've never heard anything adverse about them as for the airbags. It is something that I thought about when I built it though.

Tastes change. I wanted a Wrangler for a long time and finally bought a new one in 2018. I can say that after owning quite a few vehicles, that it is the one vehicle that after 3.5 years, I am still completely happy with it. But in the future, that may change. Nothing wrong with that either...
