Truck Cap Aerodynamics: Wedge vs Standard

Do you plan to store things on the cab? can you use that space to make a surface to bridge the top of the windshield and the back of a full height box? In my experience, I start taking a noticeable hit to my MPG over 60, because my truck is shaped like a brick, but my high-speed milage improved...

    Under body power distribution

The Blue Sea Safety-Hub 150 is a solid small panel that can carry significant loads--it's ignition protected, but in no way waterproof. I would be surprised to see that anyone makes a waterproof panel, You may do better mounting a pelican or knock-off waterproof box and using strain relief...

    Vagabond Outdoors Drifter

...It actually looks like a year's wait (so far) since paying in full for the folks up next, which is a non-standard way of doing business--to put it lightly.

Here we go again 2012 frontier pro 4x MT

These work great with 33's, especially the skinnies. I got a hidden winch tray from Wam, and it actually does the job just fine, I don't have any complaints about the front bumper, just the lights--everything could be brighter! Not sure if that has an electric locking tailgate, but if not, that...

ldea's for keeping one's water system from freezing ?

As has been said, motion can be enough heat to forestall freezing if the temp isn't too low. Simply recirculating the water can keep it liquid below freezing, especially if the tank is insulated Pex tubing is also flexible enough to resist damage from freezing, and the pipes are far more likely...

Build - Frontier with ARE DCU topper

The Wam winch tray is a good piece of kit-- The way they pack it, you can see that it can take a beating, or already has on the way to your door! You probably need to trim the bumper facia to get the plastic back on, but that's doable if you take it slow. I found I needed to upgrade my front...

    Snow chains for offroad use.

Chains are for mud & any snow less dirty! What can clear your vehicle's wheel-wells is the first part of choosing chains, After that the pattern (cost) & ease of installing helps you choose. A dedicated tire chain vendor will give you the most info about how to make a sound decision.

How Do You Store Your Garbage?

Ammo cans on the roof. They seal well, are weather proof and can take a beating. I use them for garbage, recycling and human waste when required. One strap holds them in a frame on the rack, only takes a minute to empty them into a dumpster when I pass one.

    Frame Ground Points

Tapping does not require access to both sides, requires fairly inexpensive tools & is not all that difficult. The goal when tapping is to get two full threads through the material to have sufficient surface area of mating metals. 10/32 screws are used in standard metal electrical boxes and...

Recovery boards for hella heavy truck?

x2 for the fiberglass- heavy and the grit will cut through any strap, but peerless for traction and even some bridging.

Building a Chinese expedition truck, possible ?

Wow! Super compact! Will the front seats swivel around? I've seen some good examples of using a temporary enclosure for the shower & toilet so the area can be enjoyed when those functions are not required. These generally have a waterproof floor or pan and curtain walls that can be closed for...

    Fridge only or fridge/freezer?

With a freezer, one tupper is many! I've found a fairly compact, square, Ziplock brand tub that I use for a mold. Meals get frozen in parchment paper in the tupper and decanted into a bag in the freezer, no space wasted on edges or lids. When something needs defrosting, it goes back in the tub...
