I have been looking (Australia 4x4 Action/S. Afrikans mags) at these roof shelves (mount above the sun visors for storing maps, drinks, mounting radios, etc.) for some time and see at least three outfits in OZ that make these. A friend (BlueHZT60) has one for his 60 series that I think he got...
A friend (BlueHZT60 - Bob) of mine in Bend, OR; has the CP which is hinged so the two burners fold into each other, nice and neat. An older model perhaps with the wide grill, but it works great. He has had it for quite a few years and as Jonathan says it will be there long after you are finished...
David, you will love this guy's (Steve Eagan - owner of CBI) work. On time, within your budget and great welds and superior customer service. I have never seen a guy that welds this good. He has made me a custom rear bumper with dual swing outs (fuel/water and spare tire) and 360 degree...
I totally agree with most comments here as well. As for a netbook/laptop mount,I have a Jennix one (~$40 on ebay) and it doesn't impinge on my passenger area to much. As I drive solo most times, this is not a real concern.
I do use a track/route that either comes from someone else who has done...

I have an ancient Garmin c320 Street Pilot which I have fooled into loading various topo data from various websites. Works great! Bought it used about 3 years ago on eBay.

Get a 70 series Land Cruiser and you'll never look back! Well built, great fuel economy, very capable. A few members here have them like me (x2) Hltopper, etc. search the forum and you will fine 'em.
Doubt the sewing and magnetic strips will hold out while driving on the highway at 60 MPH nor the security of having someone lift these while you are parked. That is if you don't put them on the inside! With this product I assume you can have it on while driving and still get the shade and air...

Shielas are generally bigger and are more colourful than Skirts. Skirts are usually smaller and less colourful.
