Roof Top Tents Detailed Comparison and Analysis

Here's the other 1,000 words. Note the three triangular rips in the Maggiolina, care of exceptionally concientious spotting and one of our favorites - a gnarly old Juniper. Bob

Off Road / Expo biodieselers & WVO users...

I believe it was this specific engine. There was another guy in Bend that dropped a 3B in a 60 over 1 (one) weekend and ran/runs WVO without a problem. And yes my fuel return hose turned to an interesting goo. We can re use the goo for rust treatment on the underside. Bob

I just put 3.6 gallons of bio in the diesel 60 series landcruiser. In reference to my diesel transplant - it's a big deal to add 10% bio - for now. I'm on engine #2 and both my mechanic and Oregon Fuel Injection made me promise not to use biod. Lots of $$'s and time later, I've listened - only...

    Lights inside a rooftop tent

http://www.littlite.com/ If you have 12 volts available. I have had mine for over 10 years. One beside bed, one in Maggiolina. Short of that the puck light from the Dollar Store works. Bob

Optima vs. Odyssey and what model?

Optima red top: 3 years - dead (two times) Optima blue: 2 years - dead Exide Regular & Deep cycle: going on 2 yrs and working Changes: the batteries are now in the rear QP, not under the hood, so that may explain a whole lot. In the bigger picture batteries are cheap, compared to being...

Roof Top Tents Detailed Comparison and Analysis

OHHH!! What do they say - - a picture is worth a 1,000 words. For the rest of my life I will remember that moment & I will remember another: the water circling around my attenna and snorkle, stuck, in the river - with the owner(me) sitting in the passenger seat watching (for all the other...

Roof Top Tents Detailed Comparison and Analysis

What you don't like driving around with a giant white hot tub on your roof? (that's what my neighbor said many years ago when I first got the RTT). Everyone thinks my cruiser is going to fall over on its' side -yet it's only done that once due to operator error. Anyway, the Maggiolina gets...

Roof Top Tents Detailed Comparison and Analysis

DG would never forgive you, plus I'm going to hit Mike up for Blue cloth if available - I remember your comment on the grey. I need to toy with small versus medium, but I think I'd like to stick with the Maggiolina vertical size. I'm spoiled having had a queen size bed all these years. I...

Roof Top Tents Detailed Comparison and Analysis

Adventure Hall of Fame, hmm, is that a figment of my imagination? Well, there's a lot of excellent experiences all over the western USA. The Magg. still has lots of life in it and will be going to my buddy - at a deeply discounted price. A half days work, and it'll be good for another 10 years...

Roof Top Tents Detailed Comparison and Analysis

Oops, didn't mean to leave a dangle..... and now for the rest of the story. 3 small tears in driver side rear, top corner of tent about 2" each. Trail fix: Duct Tape & Shoe Goo to hold old tape down (hwy driving after Hotel Rock peeled the tape) Temporary fix: 1 can of bed liner over duct...

Roof Top Tents Detailed Comparison and Analysis

This is for Mike (specifically) and everyone else. The giant Maggiolina finally met a tree at Moab  . Ten years of hard core use with the camper extending over the edge of my 60 series roof - without a mishap. I will be succumbing to sleeping on the ground for Rubicon. I will also be...

    Oregon loop - May

I'm a little late for this trip, but anyone wanting to know about Eastern Oregon - 20+ years of work, exploring and play - loving every minute on no cell phone coverage. Basically - get off the pavement and there is a whole lot to see. A lot more than a bunch of sage brush and juniper. Happy...

    Alaska/BC 2007

I'll be short and sweet. 5-12 hours days to get to Anchorage. Gas prices will be much higher than you think. Bear Spray & Guns will be surrendered at the border (BC). The third night of camping in rain with mosquitos may lean you toward a motel in Whitehorse. Go out of your way to visit Atlin...
