Rack recommendations for James Baroud Evasion XXL on a 2008 Jeep Rubicon JKU 4 door?

Hands down the AEV rack, after installing countless James Baroud tents on Jeeps and personally driving one with the same rack and tent everyday I recommend it over anything else.

My Baroud tent has the dreaded stress cracks

However OP, if you do not mind emailing me some photos at rino@ok4wd.com I will be happy to take a look and if there is any structural issues we will be sure to get you taken care...

Looking For A Very Long RTT

Always willing to assist, let me know if I can answer anything about the James Baroud RTTs for you. Also I agree, the Space XXL is the best for taller folks, I'd be surprised if someone could not comfortably fit in one.

Spare wheel with tire on James Baroud Explorer Evo

Correct the area was originally designed for just a spare tire without wheel for raids down in Africa where just a tire would do. Fast forward to the average overlander and the space makes more sense for some dry stroage bags less than 55lbs. Unless you are a split rim having fellow :)

    James Baroud Supplier Kudos

That is what we love to hear, the crew at Nomad Ventures is super solid and we are proud to have such great dealers! Glad to hear that your solution is working out for your rack system and we have a bit of a even more "universal mounting kit" in the works to help fit even the most tricky racks.

My new Alu-Cab Expedition 3 Tent and Shadow Awning!

Like James explained, we prefer customers visit their local dealer for optimal service and support. On top of this current Alu-Cab production is barely enough to meet the growing global demand and typical orders right now on tents are 2-3 containers out so we prefer customers are explained this...

    I want a 270...Alu-Cab or Ezi Awn?

Awesome to hear your take on the awning and thank you for the video. If you ever decide to use the Alu-Cab strap, it can be attached under the Front Runner SlimLineII by using an 8mm bolt and no drilling, let me know if i can answer any questions.

Yeah i will have to do something, what a drag! I've used Photo Bucket for years now. I'm going to switch to IMGUR, but not sure about restoring past stuff timewise. :( Nope but i do head that way, i have a brother now located in Boston. I never thought using Photo Bucket and it being free...

Anyone try these "generic" hardtp RTTs?

Seems legit But honestly, all James Baroud tents are handbuilt in Portugal and AutoHome tents in Italy. Neither are massed produced in China where they would be "just sold without the name" and buyers should consider the fact it is a cheaply made knock off with in this case a Craigslist...

    NEW! Awnings from James Baroud

Sorry to hear you are having an issue mounting your awning. The universal roof rack mounts are designed for flat extrusion style roof racks and not round bar racks. For mounting just about any awning to a GOBI, you will need a set of clamps from FourTreks (...

Recommend me a RTT: Hard shell, fully open, XL, w/ annex?

http://forum.expeditionportal.com/threads/173612-New-Product-James-Baroud-Tunnel-Awning?p=2323105#post2323105 :) We currently have the tunnel awning for the Explorer, Evasion and Grand Raid. The Space would be a bit tricky! Either would work perfectly with the new Tunnel Awning, the best...

Recommend me a RTT: Hard shell, fully open, XL, w/ annex?

James Baroud has finally after much customer request created an annex or vestibule for our hard shell RTT's. I will post up a separate thread tomorrow to not sidetrack this thread. :)

    I want a 270...Alu-Cab or Ezi Awn?

The Shadow Awn may seem heavy but being all aluminum it is only 54lbs, where other 270* awnings are 45+ lbs. 10 pounds well spent ;)

OK4WD Daily Driver / Overland Rubicon

With the tent and awning mounts mounted to the rack, the rack install went just as planned and was tightened from the inside! Now it is time to finish this project up and get the awning mounted! A bit of a sneak peek, I received a new prototype awning bag from Alu-Cab! ;) (these will be...
