Didn't see this for awhile. I have a plastic backboard that I will throw on the roofrack for longer trips, or where I'm the designated medic.... Lightweight and easy to strap to the roof, so I figure why not? -H-

I suppose the difference is design. I never really liked the look of the 40 series safari snorkels, and thought that the Bandi snorkel just fit the rig better, style wise.... -H-

The body styles are totally different, I wouldn't get it. If you want an OEM look 40 snorkel, there is a gent selling some Banderante snorkels on IH8MUD that I almost picked up for my 45 troopy...those would be the ones to get. Just make sure you get the one made for your particular model...
