Arizona Strip - 64 gallons later

Thanks for the memories... MrsXpdshn (Paula) here...what a great trip report, it brings back such great memories. Your photos and videos are very appreciated and as you mentioned they really don't show the vastness of the place. They do give a good hint as to what others could expect when they...

Fred, great report so far. :smiley_drive: :lurk: Is the Bar 10 going to sell gas on a permenent basis? That would be a big plus for those doing this trip.

As said before --- totally awesome. And as said before, interior pics? Sleeping unit? How can I get that into the US????? (I know a rhetorical question-already answered)

Howdy--Paula here....both Gary and I called the NPS prior to leaving to ask if we needed back country permits and where (if) we could camp. We were both told that permits were not needed in the area we were planning to go and that we could camp anyplace that had an existing fire ring. That has...

South Park and Pleasant Canyon March 2011

I think I will be doing the Pleasant canyon/South Park loop real soon and am wondering if the brush has over grown the road through Pleasant canyon? My first time through was a major pin stripping event, the 2nd time through I think a club came in a clear back the brush so it was not an issue...

South Park and Pleasant Canyon March 2011

Rolling at Chicken Rock is my nightmare. I can see how that could happen with a novice driver and too much gas at just the wrong moment. Very good that there was a happy ending, though if that JK wasn't driveable what a huge towing bill. Thanks for the tale, very exciting. Gary

I too am interested in the waterfall in Goler Wash. All the times I have driven through there, the road was fixed with no waterfalls. I have seen pictures from the past that show these but I wasn't lucky enough to be able to drive them. Looking forward to the pics. I was in DV the previous...

Ed, It was a Big Agness 4 from REI. It was great, room enough for us and the dog also. Without the rain fly, you have a great view of the night sky.

Dan, I'm racking my little pea brain trying to remember any severe dips or wops in the road. .................................. I can't think of any that would prohibit you from adding the basket, though a disclaimer here as I think the FJ has a shorter wheelbase than the 4R, so maybe minor...

The complete run could not be done in a low clearance 2x vehicle. But much of it could be done with that type of vehicle. Driver experience would be a hugh factor as well as the quality of off pavement tires. Usually these types of vehicles run highway tires - not conducive to long off pavement...

I'll be looking for your write up. Have fun. Thanks for your comments. That has been our favorite trip so far. Over 400 miles and seeing only about 4 people (not counting Toroweep). You got me thinking with your comments about tourists. Toroweep has mutitudes of tourists but the other...

That was great, thanks. Seeing Lee's Flat road in the snow was beautiful. No matter what type of camera, the pics were great. Thanks for posting.

The best I can do is this: http://www.fjcruiserforums.com/forums/man-fre/54845-fj-cruiser-auxiliary-fuel-tank-installed.html Can't really say how much technical info is in there, but I do know individuals have installed their own tanks. I just opened the first link and it's probably the...
