Camping, and overlanding for health, and some of the issues I have run into... CPAP power solution.

Bob Wells produces a LOT of great material. I didn't know about this particular video. Thanks for the link! If Solar could do it, I am all for solar for sure...

Affordable, low power draw 60qt fridge.

I really wish models were available to look at locally. The JP40 IF it is appropriate volume internally, I need to keep things cold, but not like a month of food. Things like fajita beef, veggies, pre rolled tortillas etc... But I need to keep the height under 19". https://amzn.to/2QZg5X7 If...

Affordable, low power draw 60qt fridge.

I can't absorb a $1K price tag for a portable fridge. (I wish I could, but realities are not there...). I was thinking about something like the 50qt Iceco unit at https://amzn.to/2QXrxCD but didn't know if it was any good. To get in at or under budget I need to stay under $600.00 total.

Affordable, low power draw 60qt fridge.

I'm not aware of the article you mention, however you are right, $1,000.00 for a compact fridge is not something I can easily absorb. I am hoping for the $600.00 or under price point.

Camping, and overlanding for health, and some of the issues I have run into... CPAP power solution.

I have mentioned it before, and I won't lie about it, I am massively overweight, complete with several of the associated health impacts. Most notably GERD and Sleep Apnea. The GERD is treated with medication, and the Apnea. Something else about it all, and I proved it again with travel over...

RV Short Queen self inflating sleeping mats.

I know this seems like, and it definately is an odd question, but I am wondering if such a thing exists. You see I am building a sleeper in a pickup cap, but want to use the top side of the "bed" shelf for some storage while in transit, for things like a tote of clothes, the privy tent etc...

Affordable, low power draw 60qt fridge.

I am just wondering what everyone suggests for a low draw fridge. I don't need tons of storage, but I need cold storage for a weeks worth refridgerated food for 2 people including space to keep drinks cold. I have been having good results with a 60qt cooler but obviously ice takes up space and...

Budget Friendly approach to "weekender" overlanding rig...

Okay so as we churn along with the build / rebuild here is the status so far. #1. I am not sure if I mentioned it, but this truck has a failed engine. The 5.4L 3V is known for oil delivery problems and variable timing system issues, all of which my truck suffered. I followed the factory...

DIY Truck Camper - If you did it again

So with a 6.5 foot box, which is more or less standard on full size standard bed trucks these days, yeah, you are going to have a tight fit. Not all of them require tailgate down, but rather tailgate can be removed if you desire. Bed space will be minimized with a closed tailgate for sure, but...

Budget Friendly approach to "weekender" overlanding rig...

Some changes have come my way due to wanting to get out there sooner, and coming up with some ideas... The foamie build is not being scrubbed, just delayed, and may end up on a different truck down the road. For now here is what we are doing... My goals should be met-ish. My biggest goals and...

DIY Truck Camper - If you did it again

I am in the process now, but have had campers in the past, VW Westfalia vans, hard side and pop up truck campers, and a pop up trailer. Must haves for ME, not necessarily you, but for ME. MINIMUM bed size is a standard queen 60x80. My wife and I are both big, we are camping / overlanding for...

    Making a standard Gen Quieter

While well outside of any available budget I have at this time, I agree with the concept of, if you absolutely need more than 2KW, using 2 of the 2KW Honda, or similar gensets with the pairing cables. Now while I agree to a certain extent that there is time, money and R&D involved in NVH on...

    Futon in truck bed

Were it not for the fact that my wife and I are both heavy, I would be going the route you are... Instead I am opting to go with a more crosswise build which will require a custom camper shell that will be built in foamie fashion. (Canvas with a firming / bonding agent over foam) and painted...

Power systems (fuel) - help me decide

Looking at your info, I am pretty sure you can solve the Diesel issues. I've seen a wide variety of Diesel burner stoves, most of them are backpacking stoves, however I have seen a few fixed RV / Camper type stoves like the Webasto... Webasto can provide you with a diesel heater for the...

Budget Friendly approach to "weekender" overlanding rig...

Progress has been made, to a certain extent Due to the locations we want to travel to, propane was going to be problematic, and I have an ethical issue with the 16.4oz disposable propane cylinders since nobody will recycle them for safety reasons... Totally understandable but that leaves me with...

I already own the Tailgator, and yeah, I should have gotten the Sportsman instead. I am selling off some unused gear that I no longer can use, or don't want to use, and plan on using the money to grab one of them, and will likely just use the Tailgator for emergency uses. I.E. hurricane hits...

New member here, looking into building a fiberglass over foam slide in for a full size Ford.

Like converting the Leer to a pop top? That would buy me the headroom I want for sure. If I could get it to where I have the bed fold up into a couch that I can sit in, that would be great. Just FWIW, I am built a bit funny, I have a LOT of torso. I am 6', my wife is 5', we have the same...

New member here, looking into building a fiberglass over foam slide in for a full size Ford.

I am feeling out options. Read my posts a bit deeper. I CAN do a basic build using an existing Leer cap, but I would be lacking the headroom I want. My ideal would have been had Eureka Campers stayed in business and started making them out of fiberglass over foam instead of aluminum... Not a...

New member here, looking into building a fiberglass over foam slide in for a full size Ford.

I wasn't planning on using polystyrene, but polyiso which has much greater insulating characteristics. A.K.A. R-Max... It's sort of yellowish / tannish insulation board with a foil backer on one side that acts as a radiant barrier. I think what you are calling tan foam is Polyiso, with or...
