    Fly Fishing: My first fish

Lovely fish, spressomon. Each time I experience a photo like yours I also imagine the real experience, especially with a species as athletic at the cutthroat. Lovely fish. Allen R

    Fly Fishing: My first fish

Congratulations on receiving the waders, Iggy (Sorry, it's difficult for me to call someone 'ignorant'.) You have a wonderful trout stream about an hour west of you. 'Course you probably already know this, but the Housatonic is a fabulous stream, especially around West Cornwall. A plus on this...

Four Wheel Campers ("NEW Hard Sided Cabover Campers")

Fortunately, we have been holding off thinking that we will be able to make the Sacramento ISE show and settle the final choices then. Weather outlook may change our return trip plans to Idaho and would prevent our attending at the SACTO show. This new 'option', though, may be a serious...

    Crossing the Andes

Hey, Scott. Anne and Andy had dinner in the same restaurant just a few nights ago. I'll bet your and Steph's trip is a much more relaxed one than theirs. :) You guys have fun. If I knew your itinerary, I could hook you up (pun intended) for a day or two of excellent fly-fishing. Allen R

FWC coming to Denver Jan. 7-10

Thanks, NE, I had read that information before but must have missed this part: "So for customers that have a smaller truck like a Toyota Tacoma, Ford Ranger, Nissan Frontier, Dodge Dakota, etc. you can stick with the Eagle model if you like the narrower, more streamline camper." [bold print...

FWC coming to Denver Jan. 7-10

Thanks for that suggestion, but I think the Dakota's 42"-inside wheel well dimension may be a problem with that model. I'll ask the folks at FWC. Allen R

KC and Thom, if you actually have time to read this forum during today's event, I'm sending a 'mole' by your booth today. Allen R

FWC coming to Denver Jan. 7-10

I had up-close and personal tours of an Eagle and a Falcon day before yesterday here in the Santa Ynez Valley. The Eagle was from British Columbia. Can't remember the Falcon's home base. Both were really nice. I can almost envision an Eagle...or the Finch, if it isn't tooooo small for us. Allen R

FWC coming to Denver Jan. 7-10

Right, KC. We'll probably make a trip out there. You bet. Maybe if we miss the Sacto show for some unforeseen reason, we'll get over to one of the Rcky Mtn shows. Will do. Allen R.

FWC coming to Denver Jan. 7-10

KC, we're planning to attend the Sacto show when we depart here (Los Olivos, CA) on or about 1/21. Will you be at that show? We'll be looking closely at the Finch or Falcon models. Hope you'll have one on display, but I realize space is limited. Allen R

    Alaskan Camper Question

You're absolutely correct, sisu. I completely forgot that they now produce the Alcan model. I was thinking about their more traditional slide-in type. It's my understanding that the Alcan is a chassis-built version, but I'm not sure. In any case, when I spoke with them there was no mention of...

    Alaskan Camper Question

Sisu, I agree with Haven. I've been on the phone with the folks at Alaskan as recently as just few days ago and no mention was made of aluminum. On the contrary, the benefits of wood were touted, so unless something was in the making that they failed to mention...??? Allen R

    Overland Expo: Prescott, April 24-26

Looks like we missed a fun and informative event. Prior commitments to rising trout and tight lines in the southern hemisphere prevented my attendance this year. I hope that the organizers are looking to the 2010 calendar with a repeat performance. I've blocked out April with "Taxes09" and...

New Zealand Dec - Jan 09

Great report and photos, Chuck. Thanks for posting. Diana and I were supposed to be in NZ as I type this but, unfortunately, had to alter our plans. Just a postponement. Your notes will be good to add to our own prep plans. Allen R
