    100 Series master cylinder..yikes!

Call American Toyota. For www.IH8MUD.com members, Dan (the parts mgr.) does 25% off list....which, from what is posted here, will likely save you several hundred dollars. Go with OEM Toyota parts. -H-

    Rear winch?

The times I've been stuck I almost always would have preferred to go out backwards. I bet you could easily mount the winch underneath then run the cable out a fairlead under the rear bumper.... I say do it. -H-

    Why the JK 3.8L V6 sucks.....the video!!

LOL...ya'll are a hoot! I'd be going 35mph with my flashers on in the 70 series! 60mph is moving quite nicely. I guess it's what you're used to. I felt that the 3.8L motor did just fine with the Earthroamer XV-JP conversion. It's no Corvette, but I never felt lacking for power...

    Newbie with Bike Question?

Used dual sport in the 200-650cc range. Honda, Yamaha, etc.... Lean towards the smaller if you'll be on tighter trails with little or no high speed highway; towards the larger if you plan on travelling at 55mph+ for any amount of time. HTH -H-

    Good Toyota shop in Tucson?

Well, Sierra Vista Toyota has always treated me very well. Mr. Hocker is the parts manager there, and provides some great discounts to the IH8MUD members. -H-

    Well, I finally did it....

The number 1 rule of motorcycle purchasing, IMHO is: Get a bike that "does it" for you...something that makes you smile even when it's sitting in the garage. Congrats on passing the class! -H-

    How about this '88 FJ62?

Looks like it's in good shape. I agree that the price is high; however, even for, say $6K I wouldn't think you'd be getting the bad end of the deal, if the maintenance records back up the seller's claims. If you don't really have to do anything in it except for baselining fluids, not a bad...

I guess I fail.....:coffeedrink: They (crocs) are awfully handy for taking the trash out in the morning, or throwing on to wander on the back deck to the BBQ.... -H-

    Rear Locker or MaxTrax?

A perfect application for MatTrax....a snow covered road you could just drive on....as long as you don't hit any side hills... We have a set for our SAR Suburban, and four sets for ATVs...I haven't been impressed. -H-

    Rear Locker or MaxTrax?

Mattrax or winch. I just now have a rig with lockers...and the vast majority of any stucks I've had are in the snow. A winch makes it a no worry issue.... -H-

    Boots question

Advrider.com and Craigslist are great sources for good boots cheap! I really like my Sidi Discovery boots....5 years old and tough as nails, but they're about $250 retail. -H-

    Amazon.com Etymotic ER6i earphones.

Just happened to find these on sale at Amazon. These are absolutely wonderful for motocycle riding; allowing you to listen to your Ipod, etc. at a nice, moderate volume while filtering out 25db or so of outside noise. I've used mine for several years now, and don't do a long road trip without...
